What a day! Blaze is on his way to the State Finals at Michigan State University 💚⛳️🤍!

He played a solid round of golf today except for hole 16 and 18 at Ubly. He came into hole 16 ranked 3rd out of 92 golfers and managed to find the water twice in one hole. He then parred hole 17 and was still in 3rd place. One more hole to go and he decided to hit the sand trap three times in one hole! That moved him down to 5th place and one spot and one stroke out of going to the State Finals. There was then a tie for 3rd place teams and when all of the shifting was done, he became eligible to go to the State Finals, but there were three golfers at 81 and only two spots open.

Blaze ended the day in 5th place shooting an 81 and making it to the State Finals after a three way tie and a playoff hole. Blaze took the first playoff hole!

He handles the pressure so well! Reminds me so much of Grandpa Bob and Great Grandpa Al. He definitely doesn’t take after his mother! I was a nervous wreck!

He had beautiful weather and amazing and supportive golfers during his entire competition today. It was a great day to achieve his ultimate goal of the season and make it to the State Finals at MSU!

A special thanks to all of his coaches the past four years, The Ridge Golf Course for letting him start golfing there when he was just a little boy and treating him like one of their own, his teammates, his family and friends, and everyone who has golfed with him at one point or another and has given him tips along the way. He wouldn’t be where he is today without everyone’s support and patience and everyone believing in him.
