After we "broke the beam" and completed Rocky Mountain Race Week we went into the shootout. With our best pass we could turn in of 8.53, we fell into the second 8 fastest cars for the week and we ran in the BMF8 shootout.
Round 1 we got an automatic win as our opponent couldn't get his car to stage and was timed out by the timing system. On this pass we also had a fuel pressure safety shut the car down. Between rounds we swapped the fuel pump just in case that was the issue.
Round 2, we had a clean hit, but this time had a DBW issue and it sounded like we were womping on the big end, when I was just trying to keep the car moving. Somehow we won that round as well.
Final Round everything went well, until it didn't. Had a good advantage on the tree and the car ran well until we put a hole in the piston at the finish line. The issues we had been running into all week with cooling issues finally bit us in the butt, as we had an air pocket at cylinder 1, which resulted in burning a hole in the piston. We got the win, but we have a few repairs ahead of us.
