Wayland-Weston Crew Alumni — Let’s Stay Connected! 🧡❤️

No matter what year you graduated, where life has taken you, or how long it’s been since you’ve connected with the crew, there’s still a lot of value in staying part of the Wayland Weston community.

We’ve set up an alumni networking site through AlumniFire to make it easier for former teammates to reconnect, help one another, and keep the relationships we built through the years going.

Through the platform, you can:
* 🤝 Reconnect with old teammates and catch up with people you may have lost touch with.
* 💼 Network with alumni from every graduating year and make professional connections.
* 🚀 Find career opportunities and learn about jobs through people who already know what it’s like to be part of our community.
* 💡 Get career advice from alumni working in fields you’re interested in.
* 🏙️ Connect when moving to a new city — whether you’re starting a new job, going to school, or just looking for people you already have something in common with.
* 🌎 Build your network beyond your own class and connect with alumni from all generations of the program.

One of the best things about being part of a team is that the relationships don’t have to end when your playing days do. This is a chance to keep that connection going and create a network that can benefit all of us — personally and professionally.

Sign up, update your profile, and find your teammates on AlumniFire!

Let’s build a strong Wayland-Weston alumni network and make sure that being part of the crew continues to mean something long after graduation.

Once a teammate, always a teammate. 🚣

Please consider purchasing an item or going in with another family if an item is too expensive (the coolers are a lot of money, but they hopefully wont need replacing for many years to come).

We’re hoping to add a few items that would make our time at regattas a little easier, more comfortable, and more enjoyable for everyone. We’d really appreciate your consideration in helping us make these things possible for the team.
* New coolers: These would replace our old coolers, which unfortunately don’t keep food cold anymore. The lids don’t close properly, some handles are broken, and we’ve had food spoil as a result. The new coolers are a bigger expense, but we’re hoping they’ll be a long-term investment that will last the team for many years.
* Hand truck: This would make a huge difference when transporting food and supplies from the food trailer to the tent, especially when our tent site ends up being a long way from where we’re able to park the trailer.
* Cold packs, foam rollers & benches: These are all geared toward helping our athletes take care of their bodies, recover, and perform their best throughout a long regatta day. The benches would also be a wonderful addition to our team setup.
* Disinfecting wipes: These would be used at the boathouse to wipe down the ergs and help keep shared equipment clean and minimize the spread of germs.

If you’re able, please consider purchasing one of these items or even going in together with another family to help cover the cost of something that feels like a bigger purchase. Every contribution, big or small, would make a difference.

We know these are asks, and we truly appreciate everyone who helps support our athletes and the team. We’re hoping, with a little help from our rowing community, we can make regatta days and practices just a bit better for everyone. ❤️ https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/VZER4EMRYSEA?ref_=wl_share

Dinner plans for next Wednesday? We’ve got you covered!

Take one thing off your midweek plate (literally!) and order dinner from The Villa in Wayland next Wednesday 9/16. It’s a great excuse to skip the cooking, enjoy a delicious meal, and support a great local team at the same time.

TBT + 1 - In 1852, 174 years ago this month, Yale challenged Harvard to a 2-mile race on New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesauke (Harvard won), giving birth to intercollegiate athletics in America. The regatta became an Ivy League rivalry renewed annually to this day, leading the way for the later introduction of college sports like baseball, basketball and football. Enjoy this engaging history, and an example of the symbiotic relationship between real estate and crew, from our friends at World Rowing.

The year was 1852 and crews from two opposing universities met head to head for the first time to test their skill at the oar. Although not so old as Britain’s Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race, Yale and Harvard decided to hold their own race.

Enjoy Kristi Wagner '11 (rowing bow) and her USA Women's 4x in yesterday's exciting A Final race!

Just a reminder--Kristi learned to row in the Wayland-Weston middle-school program and rowed for our high school team for four years, serving as a captain in her senior year, before heading to Yale University, from which she was graduated in 2015. She went on to become a U.S. National Team rower and a two-time Olympian, racing at Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. She is also a 2023 World Championship bronze medalist in the women’s double sculls.

Insightful commentators are Martin Cross, a 1984 Olympic gold medalist for Great Britain and longtime broadcast analyst for World Rowing, Henley Royal Regatta, and The Boat Race, and Camilla Hadland-Horrocks, a former British junior international rower and experienced World Rowing commentator.

For today's Wayland-Weston community, there's something pretty special about watching one of our own on the World Championship start line.

From Wayland-Weston to Yale to Team USA!

This is the Final A in the Women's Quadruple Sculls (W4x) at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Attention, WW faithful! Your help is needed to replace some well-worn food tent necessities like coolers, folding chairs, chafing dishes and food warmers. With exciting fall and spring regattas around the corner, these items will be a boon to our culinary cognoscenti in serving up nutritious and delicious fare for our student-athletes, coaches, parents, alumni, and friends of the team. Here's a handy link to the short shopping list.
