One of my BIGGEST PET PEEVES as a nutrition coach…
CHEAT MEALS! 🍹🍕🍩🍟🍻
You’ll never hear me refer to “going off your nutrition program” as a cheat meal.
I think there’s a really negative mindset that comes with labeling some foods as “cheat meals”.
It creates a scarcity, binge mindset and overall, a guilt feeling about eating this meal.
▶️ The way I talk with my clients about eating foods they like that may be on the “less healthy” side is having an 80/20 approach. ◀️
80% of the foods you eat are quality nutrient dense foods & 20% of the foods are “less healthy” foods you enjoy! 🍦
🚨 Now if you’re in a weight loss calorie deficit your 80/20 looks like 90/10 while you’re in the deficit in order to see the best possible results while maintaining your sanity! 🤯
