Grab a pencil, Friends — we've got so much good news you're going to wanna to take notes ✏️

⛺️ Shred Camp 2025 is full, with 26 kids spending 5 days learning the ropes of mountain biking, trailbuilding, and wrench turning this June on the Coös Trails – all while having fun, swimming, eating way too much pizza, and building resilience, friendship, and team spirit.

👆 Thanks to Northern Forest Center, the Keep Driving Foundation, and every racer that came out to the Frost Heave for the Shred Camp support — you're creating the next generation of mountain stewards (and future high school MTB champs) while providing summer jobs for some very worthy junior Coaches.🙏

🫶 Brand NEW TRAIL in progress. The team at Tulip Trails LLC is breaking ground on Monday on 1.5 miles of new climbing and machine-built flow on the Coös Network. Be rad and let 'em work — we should be riding it this Fall. Huge thanks to Northern Forest Center, NBRC🇺🇸, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, our Members, and several (remarkable, awesome, humble but completely praiseworthy) private donors for making it happen.

🎉 MTB group rides are on – every Wednesday leaving from Moose Brook State Park in Town of Gorham, NH at 530p. It's the most fun you can have on a weekday evening, guaranteed — with some of the nicest humans you'll ever meet. If you haven't joined us in the past, you're welcome in this Club, and if you have joined us in previous years, it's time to reup!

⚡️Did you buy a (Class 1) e-bike, you lucky duck? You're allowed (and welcome) on the Coös Network. Just make sure you hit the right buttons on your watch/phone/bike computer so Strava doesn't think you climbed Alpine Spring aka Wet T-shirt in 3 minutes with pedal-only power :)

🍺 Coös Trails is having our best Membership year since 2021 — and we'd love to have you join us. Membership is optional (and the network is open to all regardless of means), but your support means the world.

PRO TIP 👉 We now have annual recurring memberships for individuals and families, which means you can automate your yearly membership in the North Country's awesomest trail system, easy peasy — and we'll never raise the price or hit your card without telling you first. Just visit cooscyclingclub.org/membership to check out the options🫛

P.S. We love you like your Mom loves James Taylor songs 🎸 Thanks for being a part of the Club❤️

Want some good news? Here's a non-stop parade of awesome (with a wonderful kicker at the end):

✅The Coös Trails are OPEN for biking

😎Thanks to a little technology upgrade, we've added recurring annual memberships to the Trails (for both individuals and families) to our website — so once you're signed up, you can set-it-and-forget it for future years. Please grab your 2025 membership (whether recurring or one-time) when you get a chance.

😳Shred Camp is literally one kid for being completely sold out. If that spot was meant for your little shedder, head over to bikereg.com/shred-camp and grab it!

🏁The Frost Heave MTB Race (May 17th) is filling up at the fastest rate in its history, and with epic sponsors like Pro tune, L.L.Bean, Big Day Brewing, and Stan & Dan Sports, it's no surprise. The views at Jericho don't hurt either – check out bikereg.com/frostheave if you'd like to get in on New England's earliest race (and party ride) action. All proceeds go to the kids and the trails.

🛻Trail work on the Coös network starts this weekend (whoohoo!) If you'd like to join a volunteer crew of loveable, hardworking humans getting everything ship-shape for the season, meet us this👉Saturday and/or Sunday (April 26/27) at 10a at Moose Brook State Park in Town of Gorham, NH. We'll bring shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and buckets... just remember your water and your PB&J🥪

And in case this parade needed a showstopper...

🥰Thanks to the amazing and quiet generosity of the The Randolph Foundation and the procurement efforts of Dave Harkless at LITTLETON BIKE & FITNESS, we've received the funding and the means for 6 new bikes to join the Pete's Bikes/Shred Camp fleet. It means the world to us and the little shredders (and we love you like bluebirds love sunshiny days).

Thanks for being a part of the Club ❤️

❤️ Want your kid to have a blast at day camp (while secretly learning character-building lessons like working together, showing resilience, and the feeling the joy of achievement)?

Want them to be fired up and endlessly thankful the entire time?😎

(High five!)

2025 Coös Shred Camp is open for registration — a 5-day mountain biking day camp for kids 10-14 years old, led by experienced educators and mountain biking coaches who love to get young shredders digging in the dirt, swimming, making friends, turning a wrench, and having a great time learning bike skills.

👉 The best part – it's close to home at Moose Brook State Park in Town of Gorham, NH, the cost is super low because of year-round fundraising efforts by the Club (special shout to our friends at Northern Forest Center), and we have loaner bikes for kids who don't have their own thanks to the kindness of the community.

Details:

🏁 June 23-27th at Moose Brook

👍Just $50 for Coös residents (and $100 for everyone else)

🥙 We'll ride, eat lunch, learn some trail building skills, go swimming, and do all kinds of exploring

🌲Enrollment is limited to 25 kids to ensure a strong coach-to-kid ratio

👉 You can sign up at bikereg.com/shred-camp

👉 It's you following the new (100% free) 2025 Frost Heave training plans from our friends at Bell Lap Coaching.

(We roped in pro-level cycling coach Steve Weller to put together 6-week plans for Frost Heavers aiming for a great day at Jericho on May 17th, and he delivered.)

Here's the deets:

❤️ P.S. If you're not yet signed up for the 2025 Frost Heave and you'd like to join us, head over to bikereg.com/frostheave and put your hat in the ring. It's the most fun you'll have on a bike this May, guaranteed.

Bat Fike! Bat Fike! (Sorry. I just made that up, but now I'm gonna say it wayyyyyy too often this winter.)🥸

❄️Seriously though, conditions are looking great for fat biking out on on Coös Trails with a couple of grooming runs done (and more on the horizon).

From Jamie and Jason and Jere:

👉"Grooming has covered all the planned "groomed trails" over the past three days. We have had snow showers each day. Expect soft trails. Low pressure and traffic will be the best thing right now. Go get it! Best access to trails are from Moose Brook State Park (follow the groom) or RT 2 Parking and riding the rail trail to the snomobile bridge on Old River Road. Big Day to Church Street (is also ready)."

Hope to see you out there — and (pro tip) if you want to see the condi report, it's updated regularly and accessible via a button on the homepage of cooscyclingclub.org.
