After 100 Hours of Racing.
SAF have made a mistake early on the Mountain Bike Stage. They took a parallel road and lost about 45 minutes. The gap at Transition was 1h34m but now it's down to an hour.
It's not over until it's over and SAF will be determined now to make any more mistakes. Mechanical issues, a Crash, Injuries there is still a lot that can happen in this race.

Update on Team Vidaraid.

Sad news. Vidaraid is out of the race. They have been racing well behind the leaders and on the leg 6 trek Mirtha Realpe was struggling with stomach problems and was picked up and taken ahead to TA6 to be looked after. (She is OK.)

So the World #1 team is out of the ranking, but we don't know yet if they will continue as a non-competitive team or withdraw.

The lead teams are now on the stage 9 Nahatlatch River paddle, which is 17km and described as "the best whitewater rafting in BC."

This information is included in the routebook to help the teams find their way through the rapids. They had to camp out overnight and take a 'detour' for this stage, but it will be worth it!
