Most people think Jiu-Jitsu is about learning how to fight. 🥋
That’s the surface.

What we really train is what happens before the fight.

Can a child stay calm when they feel pressure? 😤➡️😌
Can they speak up when something feels wrong? 🗣️
Can they control their body when emotions are high? 💪🧠
Can they lose, learn, and try again without quitting? 🔁

At iQ Jiu-Jitsu, we teach self-defense, but we also teach self-control, confidence, respect, discipline, and decision-making. ✅

Because the goal is not to create fighters.
The goal is to help build stronger people.

Here’s the next step:

Bring your child in.
Let them try a class.
Watch how they respond to being challenged in a safe, encouraging environment.

One class could be the beginning of something powerful. 💪

At the most basic level, kids need a few things to grow strong:

✅ Confidence
✅ Discipline
✅ Problem-solving skills
✅ Physical activity
✅ Good mentors
✅ A safe place to be challenged

That’s what we are building at iQ Jiu-Jitsu. 🥋

Yes, they learn Jiu-Jitsu.

But underneath the techniques, they are learning how to handle pressure, listen better, work hard, treat others with respect, and believe in themselves. 💪

The mat is just the classroom.

The lessons go everywhere with them. 👊

Give your child a place to grow stronger now. 🥋

Our Squirrels and Juniors class are full of energy, smiles, and hard work! These young athletes are building confidence, learning respect, and developing skills that will last a lifetime. We couldn’t be more proud of their progress!

Your daughter doesn’t need to be fearless. She needs to be prepared‼️

Confidence isn’t given to girls.
It’s trained into them.

On the mat, these young women are learning how to stay calm under pressure, solve problems, set boundaries, and trust themselves.

Jiu-Jitsu isn’t about making girls aggressive.

It’s about making them capable.

Parents, if you want your daughter to be more confident, don’t just tell her she’s strong.

Give her a place to practice being strong.

Bring her in. Let her feel what capable feels like.

🚨 Mastermind Alert Principle 10 Connections 3

Date and Time: Friday, June 5th, 2026 @ 12 PM Central Time

Topic: Principle 10, Connections 3. The third installment in our Connections series. We’ll continue building a deeper understanding of how connections influence control, pressure, movement, and decision-making in real time.

4 Key Points We’ll Train

✅ Quality of Connection

✅ Connection and Leverage

✅ Connection and Direction

✅ Replacing Poor Connections with Better Connections

Show up ➡ level up ➡ make your Jiu Jitsu more connected, more efficient, and more intentional. Blue belts and above only.

Missed one? Past Masterminds are archived in the iQ App > Mastermind Trainings for approved members.

Need access? If you’re a blue belt or higher and not yet in the Mastermind, apply here ➜ https://www.iqselfdefense.com/iq-master-class

See you Friday, let’s make connection something you can feel, understand, and apply with purpose.

This week’s CDP topic is Goal Setting — and Kor & Kase put it into action. 🍿💰

They didn’t just talk about setting goals.

They sat down and created a popcorn-selling business from scratch.

They had to:

✅ Come up with the business idea
✅ Make a plan
✅ List the ingredients they needed
✅ Buy the supplies
✅ Prepare the product
✅ Sell the popcorn
✅ Track their expenses
✅ Count the money
✅ Figure out the profit

This was such a valuable lesson because goal setting isn’t just about saying, “I want to do something.”

It’s about learning how to turn an idea into action.

They got to see that every goal has steps. Every business has costs. Every plan takes work. And every result teaches you something.

These are the same lessons we want our kids learning through Jiu-Jitsu and Character Development:

Think clearly. Make a plan. Take action. Learn from the result. Keep growing.

Proud of these two for creating value, working together, and learning what it means to build something.

Way to go, Kor & Kase! 👏🍿

Congratulations, Kor! 🥋👏

Kor was tested for his next stripe and passed!

He showed that he knows his techniques, understands how to defend himself against a bully, and knows the steps to help create new friendships.

He also did a great job demonstrating what he has been learning in our Character Development Program — not just learning Jiu-Jitsu moves, but learning how to become stronger, more respectful, more confident, and more helpful off the mat too.

We are proud of you, Kor! Keep showing up, keep learning, and keep growing one stripe at a time. 💪🔥

The Jessup family completed the Gratitude Quest!

We had an amazing family discussion about what gratitude really means, and then we took action by finding ways to show gratitude in real life.

The kids were excited to play, share their thoughts, and complete the challenge together. Their reward was a family movie night with homemade popcorn — simple, meaningful, and perfect. 🍿🎬

We’re really enjoying these Character Development games as a family. They’re creating great conversations, fun memories, and helping the kids practice important life skills in a way they actually look forward to.

Proud of these kids and thankful for moments like this.

Benevolence Quest completed! ❤️🎉

Our family earned all 10 hearts in the new Benevolence Quest: The Heart Builder Game this week. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

The goal was simple: practice kindness, thoughtfulness, and good will through real action.

🎨 Kase chose to make a picture for Kor.
🐶 Kor and Misty made healthy homemade dog treats for the dogs.
🧩 Jared chose a crossword card, and we discussed the lesson together as a family.
🏃‍♀️ Brin is out of town for a track meet, so we’ll catch her up when she gets home.

This is exactly why we love the Character Development Program at iQ.

It gives families a simple way to take the lesson off the mat and into the home.

🥋 Jiu-Jitsu teaches kids how to defend themselves.
❤️ Character development teaches them who they are becoming while they learn.

Proud of our family for completing the challenge and earning our 10 hearts! 🙌
