Captain Cal 2 Belmar Captain Cal 2 is a 90’ party fishing boat located in the Belmar Marina. Sails Daily 7:30am-3:30pm Blackfish - Open boat sails everyday 7:30am to 3:30pm.

Walk-ons are Welcomed! $90 Adults, $85 Seniors/Military, $60 Kids. Rod Rentals $10
Every Tuesday Tog-a-Thon 6:30am to 4:30pm. 25 people maximum $100pp Prepays a must!

We went on a different direction today because of the high wind. We did manage to scrape up a few keepers and some ling and squid We did bounce around a lot to put together a small catch. Nothing great by any means but enough action to keep people at the rails jigging and with bait. Congratulations Owen on his first double header, good job. Weather looks great. See you in the morning.

We started the day with no wind so we drifted and picked at the fish thru the morning. Bounced around to find similar readings but we certainly didn’t catch what we read. As the wind picked up, we anchored and saw better fishing to end out the day. We had a steady pick of keepers and a lot of nice blackfish that had to go back. High hook was 8 but everyone had a handful and plenty of short to keep you busy. This is the last week of sea bass so come and see us before it’s over.

A beautiful day on the ocean today!

We caught all throughout the day Sea Bass with Ling and Winter Flounder mixed in! Pool winner today had a really nice Knucklehead Sea Bass! Nice job!

Reminders: bring a rod for bait fishing and a rod for jig fishing with light jigs and sand-eel teasers. Lots of bait around now so fish are feeding on both the jigs and clam.

Also, FLUKE starts June 22nd! It’s almost that time!

Another beautiful day. The morning bite was on jigs when most of the keepers were caught. It was a pick throughout the day. When the south winds kicked up the bite slowed and they wanted the clams over the jigs. We also had a couple of nice cod that we released. The readings we had were outstanding but the fish didn’t cooperate with the readings. Great people great times. See you in the morning. Please bring spinning rods for jigging!!!

We had light winds in the morning and throughout the day that we were able to drift on the readings. We picked and plucked all day with plenty of action and the jiggers can get their limit no problem. The bait managed to get a few but most of the action was on jigs. Weather looks great for tomorrow. Come down and get yours before the season ends. Any questions call Capt Ron see you in the morning.

We changed it up a little today and went wreck hopping. Some wrecks had more life than others and some were loaded with readings but the fish just didn’t want to cooperate. However we managed to find life on some of the wrecks that did pay off. It was a good thing that most came prepared with 2 rods as the bait bite did increase as the day went on. Overall it was a slow pick on the keepers with loads of shorts in the mix. The group of guys on the boat today fished their hearts out and did very well considering the conditions. Sailing daily 7:30-3:30. Here’s today’s pics.
