The dog days of summer are approaching! And these Houston summers can be long and brutal 🥵

Schedules can get busy with traveling, vacations, camps, etc. Excuses can start piling up:
“I’ll make it in tomorrow”
“Next week, we’ll start again”

Stay the course and consistently show up for yourself! Prioritize your health and wellness so you can show up for those around you.

Your training doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to be consistent. Keep showing up and putting in the work 💪🏽

Volume can become the scapegoat for many issues, but it’s more nuanced than “it’s too much volume.”

Building work capacity, fitness, and strength requires volume… but only when it’s appropriate for the athlete, their fitness level, goals, and ability to recover.

High volume training (in CrossFit) became popular with the rise of competitive CrossFit programs, where athletes needed more skill work, more exposure, and greater work capacity to be competitive in the sport of CrossFit.

The mistake is when recreational athletes assume they also need to train like competitors to get fitter.

For most people, consistent, intentional training 4-5x/week is enough to increase fitness. The goal is long-term progress, sustainability, and training in a way that keeps you healthy and coming back for more.

Thank you for all who joined in this yearly tradition where we honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Doing this every year gives us an opportunity to reflect and be grateful for what we have and for those who have selflessly dedicated their lives to this country 🧡

REBUILD laid the foundation. Now we apply that strength into power.

Our next 8 week cycle will focus on producing force quickly. This can be on the barbell, on machines, and even in conditioning pieces.

We will continue to build strength, but emphasis will shift toward applying it dynamically through Oly lifting, explosive movement, and higher power output efforts.

We begin 5/27!
