Established on May 24, 1965, the Bocage Racquet Club was founded by a group of forward-thinking businessmen and tennis enthusiasts. Their vision was to create a private, top-notch tennis and recreational facility, and we continue to honor their mission to this day. The club, which is owned by its members, offers a range of amenities including twenty HydroCourt clay tennis courts, six pickleball co
urts, a fitness center, pro shop, restaurant and bar, swimming pool, and clubhouse facilities. Since 1968, Bocage has been the host of a USTA National Senior Tennis tournament with prize money, drawing players from across the nation. It has also been recognized with the United States Tennis Association Outstanding Racquet Club of Louisiana Award. In 1971, Bocage hosted a special prize money tournament, attracting four of the top 10 players in the world at that time: Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Cliff Drysdale, and Roy Emerson. Rod Laver emerged victorious, having beaten Roy Emerson in the finals. Bocage offers a variety of activities, from organized league play to fun competitions, catering to everyone. The year-round junior development program is designed for children of all skill levels, from beginners to tournament players. Tournaments at different levels of competition, including fun, club, and sanctioned tournaments, are also hosted at Bocage. Furthermore, the club has a junior olympic and wading pool, as well as a summer swim team program. The poolside bar and grill, known as the Shark Shack, provides food and beverages for both adults and kids. Bocage Racquet Club isnβt just a place to play β itβs a place to belong.
