Ashland Residents:
The city has a survey out to get feedback on continuing the $5 Parks fee. I am hugely in favor of this fee because I love our parks (and rec!). Most municipalities have had to add a parks fee because property taxes are limited in a way that has not allowed cities to keep up with inflation. And, in Ashland, there's a requirement to pay employees a minimum wage. Even if you don't adjust for inflation, I believe our city's parks are functioning with a tighter budget than in the 90s. Ashland City Council approved a Parks and Recreation fee of $5 to be charged each month to each City of Ashland utility customer with an active electric meter to fund the Parks and Recreation Department in the General Fund. The fee took effect on July 1, 2025 and will sunset on June 30, 2027, unless...

There's a party this Friday, September 4 at the Evergreen starting at 7:30.

Fall Season starts on Tuesday, Sept. 8 in Ashland and Monday, Sept. 14 at the Evergreen. Sign up for the season and get all of the Beginning classes through December for $75.

*I incorrectly announced in class that we're starting Samba on 8/17. We don't start Samba until September 14.
Bonus: The Fall Season officially starts September 14. But, I'm including this upcoming session at the Evergreen in the Fall Season Pass. $75 for all beginning Monday night 6:30 classes Aug. 17-Dec. 21.
There's a Party on Friday, August 21 — 7:30 at the Evergreen.

There's a party tomorrow (Friday, July 17) at the Evergreen Ballroom, starting at 7:30. (There was a typo on the first run of this calendar. This isn't a period dress night. But, you can dress up if you want!)
Next week is summer break. No classes for me, but Randy will be hosting a Latin party at the Evergreen on the 24th if you need your dance fix!
Classes resume at the Evergreen on Monday, July 27:
6:30 Beginning Foxtrot
7:45 Intermediate Rumba
Wednesday, July 29 at the Evergreen:
6:30 Advanced Rumba (these moves will go into a routine eventually. Let me know if you're interested so we can work out scheduling)
Classes resume in Ashland in September. I'm generally available Tuesday nights this summer for private or semi-private lessons. Contact me for more info!

My July calendar is up. Plus, I've added a Folk Waltz class in Ashland on Tuesdays, starting June 30. July 3 will be a Red, White and Blue party. By request, we're also hosting an adult/Golden Age (ages 50+) party on July 31.

ANNNNDD, check out these fabulous costumes from the Dancing Through Time party. When I suggested people pick their favorite decade or century to dress up, I thought we might get a few hoop skirts. We did, and they were lovely, but we also got knights in shining armor, a dandy and some lovely maidens. WOW!

This Friday, June 19 is a Dance Through Time themed Ballroom party. It's out usual Friday night party with an excuse to dress up if you like. Pick your favorite decade (or century). Lesson at 7:30, dance until 10:00.

Wednesday, June 17 at the Evergreen:
6:30-7:30 Intermediate/Advanced East Coast Swing — Partner required for this class only.

Ashland Folks: Mark B. is working to arrange a Tuesday night Waltz class for Contra Dancers. Contact him (or me) for details.

There's a party at the Evergreen on Friday, May 15 7:30-10:00

A New Season starts at the Evergreen on Monday, May 18. Sign up for the whole season, and all the beginning Monday classes May 18-August 10 are just $60.

May 18 at the Evergreen:

7:45 Intermediate Cha Cha

Ashland classes are on break for the summer. But, I am available most Tuesday evenings for private lessons. Or, you can arrange a group and share the cost
