Connect with your body and soul. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice that induces a state of deep rest — where the body sleeps but the mind stays awake. It helps relieve stress, improve sleep, and restore balance to the nervous system. Yoga Nidra honors the body as its healer and helps us create the environment necessary for deep inner healing. This practice is an integral part of wellbeing. No experience is required. Registration is necessary even though this event is free.

First Friday FREE Community Yoga is still happening!

It’s just too hot to do it outside. So we’re moving inside Studio Zen where the air conditioning lives.

Katlynn Tijerina .co will be leading two FREE classes:
6 PM
7 PM

Our indoor space is limited to 8 people per class, so we’ll fill each class first come, first served.

All levels welcome. Beginner friendly.

Not doing yoga? Come in anyway! Stop by, check out Studio Zen, watch a little yoga, browse our boutique, enjoy the art, or just say hi. You don’t have to take a class to come hang out with us for First Friday.

Come downtown, cool off, and see us.

I am not a healer.

Sometimes people assume that because I own a healing center, I must be a healer. Or healed. Or that I know how to heal.

I don’t.

Studio Zen wasn’t created because I figured out how to heal and decided I should teach everyone else.
Quite the opposite.

It was born because I needed what I couldn’t find.
I built it from INSIDE the need for it.

Before Studio Zen, I was a teacher and principal at an alternative school, working with kids who had experienced trauma. At the same time, I was raising a child who struggled with mental health, while struggling with my own.

I was trying to understand it - and find things that might help us.

During COVID, I started learning about nervous system regulation and trying different practices. Some of it helped.
Not fixed. Helped. That’s an important distinction for me.

I wasn’t discovering some magical path to becoming healed. I was finding tools that made life more manageable.

At the same time, I was unraveling in ways I didn’t fully understand.

I needed what I was learning as much as anyone else. Maybe more.

I needed somewhere to slow down. A space to get back to myself - or have enough quiet to hear myself again.

Somewhere along the way, that need became Studio Zen.

And here’s the thing: I still need it.

I’m IN the classes.

I still struggle with my mental health. I get overwhelmed. I screw things up.

I’m still changing. Still learning what helps and what doesn’t.

And I’m learning that changing can be uncomfortable. Sometimes even lonely. Not everyone will understand every version of you, especially while you’re still figuring her out yourself.

I don’t know exactly who I’m becoming. I think I’m finally OK with that.

What I DO know is that I don’t want to stand in front of anyone pretending I’ve arrived somewhere they haven’t.

I don’t heal people.

Studio Zen doesn’t heal people.

We create space for healing.

Space where people who know far more than I do can teach us. Where we can learn about ourselves and our bodies. Where we can simply BE for a little while.

Not as the person with the answers. As the person willing to make room for the questions.

I'm just a girl who created space.
