I believe we all need a Splurge Day once in a while.
Like so many women, I’ve been obsessed with my weight for years.
I was a chubby child but lost weight when I was first sick with lupus at 15.
Other than that, I’ve tried everything…
…Starving myself, laxatives, diet pills, fad diets, Weight Watchers, fasting, smaller portions, etc…
I had success with various things –
Weight Watchers worked for a while – I lost 19 pounds before our vow renewal in 2018. I had not been at that weight since I was 10!
I was SO strict, determined to look and feel good for the event that I often felt deprived.
Once it was over, I felt I could breathe – and eat – again.
So I gained a few pounds and the struggle and search for what works for me resumed.
Recently I did a cleanse and was eating very clean – and I lost 10 pounds! It was relatively easy and I’m very happy with how I feel and the number on the scale.
The big difference –
I allowed myself a Splurge Day every week.
Usually a cupcake (or two).
And I continued the clean eating.
Now I’m maintaining a weight that feels good and I do not feel deprived.
This is why so many diets or eating plans fail – they’re too restrictive, and not sustainable.
Of course, we want to make healthy choices and eat well –
But we can also allow ourselves an occasional treat.
I’m surprised that I’ve continued to lose weight even with my weekly cupcakes, but I’m beyond thrilled!
This is why I named my little cupcake business Splurge Day Cupcakes – because everyone deserves a Splurge Day!
If you’re struggling with your weight, may I suggest that you do your best and schedule your own Splurge Day.🧁
Allow yourself an occasional treat so you have something to look forward to on the other days when you’re eating well.
Try it and see what happens.
Off to enjoy my weekly cupcake!
Enjoy your weekend🌟
