This past weekend, Empire Dojo hosted its 2026 Black Belt Seminar, bringing together dedicated martial artists for three outstanding days of intensive training, growth, and camaraderie. By all accounts, it was the best seminar yet.
Students trained diligently in the traditional arts of Kukishin Ryū Kenjutsu and Kotō Ryū Koppōjutsu, displaying tremendous focus, determination, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Throughout the weekend, participants challenged themselves physically and mentally while deepening their understanding of these classical martial traditions.
The quality of training and the level of engagement from the students were exceptional. The progress demonstrated over the course of the seminar was a testament to the hard work and dedication that each participant brought to the mat. The future of the Shisenkan continues to look bright, with students embracing the principles, techniques, and mindset that define the art.
Saturday evening's banquet provided an opportunity for everyone to come together outside of training, enjoy good company, celebrate accomplishments, and strengthen the friendships that make the martial arts community so special.
Empire Dojo extends its appreciation to everyone who attended and helped make this year's seminar such a success. We apologize if we didnt get photos of everyone who attended. Several students were not able to attend Sunday's session. The spirit, effort, and enthusiasm shown throughout the weekend made the 2026 Black Belt Seminar a memorable event and set a new standard for those to come.
