WELLINGTON SPORTS & LEISURE WINNER

As many of you know we recently won the sport & Leisure section for the Wellington Airport Community Awards.

What this means is we are now a finalist for the Regional Community Awards up against: Kapiti, Hutt City, Upper Hutt and Porirua City Council Sport & Leisure winners.

Tonight some of our younger players were filmed during a fun training session lead by one of our lovely committee members Joel.

Match Report

Year 6 Tawa Auto Super Shoppe Vs Norths White, Lyndhurst Park 22/08/26

Kia ora e te whānau.

The morning started off with a comprehensive warm up by coach T, putting our tamariki through their phases and focusing on tackling and playing the ball from the ruck.

Norths came out firing, putting our players under pressure from the get go and scoring the first couple of tries in quick succession. Tawa regrouped and matched their opposition's intensity, turning the ball over and scoring from there.

The second half started with a blitz try from Ashton.
Norths capitalised on loose balls and a few quick turnovers to match Tawa's intensity, but perseverance and great team work saw our team come up tops today with 13 tries scored compared to 10 tries by Norths. Honourable mention to AJ, Ashton and Detroit for scoring three or more tries today.

Norths awarded their opposition player of the day to Ashton, who scored a hat trick of tries this morning and made some great breaks and tackles throughout the game. Ethan was awarded the Tawa player of the day, demonstrating our AWHI values and being an absolute workhorse on the field. Kai pai to mahi!
