And just like that, our 2026 winter season is a wrap!

It was awesome to have everyone together at prizegiving to celebrate our players, teams, volunteers and families. It was a real vibe, and we could feel the Netball community we work hard to build—thank you all for being part of it.

As players and teams, we win some and lose some. But if we can enjoy the journey, make new friends, learn new skills, and keep looking to improve, then that is success.

A huge thank you to our wider community for helping make the season happen:
• New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) for its generous support. This enabled us to provide every team with a brand-new, high-quality game ball and assisted with court-hire costs.
• Reef from RADAR Photography for the awesome team and prizegiving photos—you’re a star!
• Porirua City Council for providing and maintaining the facilities we train and play on, and for its professional, friendly and supportive staff.
• Kapi Mana Netball Centre for once again delivering a competition for our teams from Junior through to Premier. We’ve really appreciated the guidance, support and advice from the team throughout the season.

We hope everyone has enjoyed their season with Waves, and our prizegiving—even if the pizza timing was a little out! 😅

🏐 Final round of the winter season! 🏐

It’s hard to believe, but the last games of the winter season will be played this Saturday at Mungavin Park!

Good luck to all our teams taking the court — give it your best, play fair, support each other, and most importantly, enjoy your final outing on court for the season. 💙

And what a way to finish — we have SIX Waves teams playing in grade Grand Finals, including a team in every Junior grade! 👏🔥

We’d love to see as many Waves supporters as possible down at the courts cheering our teams on. Bring the noise and help us finish the season in style!

Our 2026 Waves Netball Club Prizegiving times are now confirmed! Join us for our 15th annual prize giving on Saturday the 29th of August in the Ngāti Toa Domain Hall (next to the Netball Courts). All players and their families are invited to attend.

1:00pm - 1.55pm Team Photos will be taken
2:00pm - 3:00pm Prizegiving then Pizza

The schedule for team photos will be advised separately by your coach/manager - see you there!!
