We had a great AGM this past weekend. Thank you for your understanding regarding the reason we went online and to those who joined us.

I am honoured to have been elected unopposed - thank you very much for the trust you have put in me, and the rest of the Board.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank the staff and commissioners for their work running our sport.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers - from event organisers to officials, from flag marshalls to mechanics, from riders to their families, and everyone in between - you are all legends!

Hoping to see more of you next year when we host the 2027 Conference and AGM in person and celebrate all of you with the NZ Motorcycling Awards.

Thank you for all your work keeping our sport safe, fun and fair for everyone.

Fabulous racing at the NZSBK Championship in Ruapuna this weekend.

Thanks to all the MNZ Officials for a well-run event.

Thanks to Mike Marsden for a well-publicised and attended event.

Congratulations to all the winners - great racing.

This year the NZ Superbike Championship Series (NZSBK) starts soon with the first of four rounds at Ruapuna, 30 January to 1 February.

One of the decisions Motorcycling NZ (MNZ) made was to consider the use of a promoter to ensure the ongoing success of the series. We are pleased that the partnership we were able to secure with Mike Marsden and the Motofest team is working.

If you're a rider and haven't entered there is still time to do so and if you're a spectator, get along to watch - it is great racing, and you will also have the chance to meet some legends of the sport who will be attending the rounds.

Happy New Year to you all.

Happy New Year to you all!

Many thanks to you all - volunteers, competitors and your families - for the work, time and energy you put into racing this past year. We wouldn't have our sport without that.

I hope you are taking a much needed break this holiday season. I look forward to seeing you around the track in 2026 and working with you to ensure motorcycling is safe, fun and fair.

MNZ WOMEN”S COMMISSION PRESS RELEASE

26 December 2025 - For Immediate Release

HISTORIC FIRST: HARRIET GRACE BECOMES FIRST WOMAN TO WIN WHANGANUI STREET RACE ON TWO WHEELS

History was made today at the iconic Cemetery Circuit one of New Zealand’s most challenging and storied road-racing events. Harriet Grace became the first woman in the event’s history to win on two wheels winning the Ray Whitham Trophy.

“This milestone is more than a personal triumph for Harriet; it’s a defining moment for the sport and for women in motorcycling,” says Motorcycling New Zealand (MNZ) Women’s Commissioner Rebecca Murray.

“Harriet’s victory was hard-fought, lap by lap, corner by corner.

“When Harriet crossed the finish line, she didn’t just take the chequered flag — she opened a door for every woman and girl who dreams of racing.

“Harriet’s achievement sends a powerful message to every girl watching: you belong here.

“It’s a proud day for her team, her supporters, and for New Zealand motorcycling — and a powerful day for the next generation of riders,” says Murray.

“I came here wanting to ride my best, but I never imagined I’d be the first women to win a race on two wheels, here,” says Harriet Grace.

“I hope this shows other girls that they can line up, push hard, and make their own history too.

“If I can win on the Cemetery Circuit we (women) can win anywhere,’ says Grace.
