Earlier this week, several Year 7 and 8 students competed in a Padder Tennis Tournament at Maidstone Intermediate.
They played against four other schools in a variety of singles and doubles matches.

We came away with 3rd place, valuable experience, and stronger connections with other schools. Overall, it was a positive sporting experience for everyone involved.

Hello,

Basketball registrations for Term 2 at Walter Nash will be opening in the next few weeks.

I would love to enter teams, provided we have enough player interest and parents willing to coach.

Please complete the registration form to express your interest. The form will close on March 16. After this date, I will be in touch to confirm whether we have sufficient numbers to enter teams.

Please note: teams cannot proceed without a coach.

Wow- It's March Already.

We are taking part in Movin’ March again this year, starting today!

Walking, biking, and scooting to school not only eases congestion at the gate, it’s also good for the planet. Walking or wheeling increases independence, well-being, road safety skills and a sense of belonging to the local neighbourhood.

A Few changes to note: Passports aren't being used this year, we are using an in class wall chart to track student travel and it it just the "To School" Journey being recorded. Class data will be input to go into the draw to win. Each class has some small prizes up for grabs as well.

The focus is on participation and effort.
We are encouraging students to walk or wheel to school. Families who live too far away to walk or bike the whole way are encouraged to use park-and-walk options (500m or more walking distance from school)

This is Felix, he is only 6 and is excelling in motocross!
He competed in the 3rd round of Motocross Battle of the Schools in Foxton, on Saturday 14 June.
Felix was in the MX50 6-8 year class with 12 riders, with 3 races throughout the day. He placed 3rd, 8th and 4th which gave him an end result of 5th overall!

There were 56 schools throughout the North Island competing since round 1 from primary to college, which began in March. Out of these schools, there were 4 St Joseph's schools entered (Dannevirke, Stratford, Pukekohe, and Upper Hutt), with St Joseph's Upper Hutt now well ahead of the others.

Well done Felix, you are amazing!

Shout out to these boys!
Archer Blackwell, LeBron Best-Hutchison, Levi Chapman and Tomas Bone all played in the Wynton Rufer stop out tournament on Sunday.
This was the A group U9 development team for Upper Hutt football club. Their team WON the tournament taking out all Wellington/ Wairarapa region.

Another U9 Upper Hutt development team entered and won their Group C pool. Two more of our St Josephs boys, Felix Rodriguez and Samson Luamanu are part of this team, awesome effort!

All of these boys have been selected to play in the Taupo McCartney invitational tournament this October, 2025! 👏

This Happened!
Yesterday 28 of our YR 7/8's went to Trentham Memorial Park to compete in the INTERZONE CROSS COUNTRY.
The weather held out and it was a great challenge and learning experience for our students. Well done to all :)
