A great article written on Quinn as a sports scholar at Lincoln University 🐬

23km. 7 hours, 16 minutes. One purpose.

Lincoln University Sports Scholar Quinn Boyle conquered the Cook Strait in temperatures as low as 14°C, all while raising funds for youth mental health charity I Am Hope.

After an earlier attempt ended in hypothermia, Quinn returned stronger, better prepared, and determined to make a difference.

We’re excited to share that Dylan Booysens is set to join our Coaching Team starting next Monday 4th May!

He will be stepping into an Assistant Coach role primarily working with our Gold and Masters Squads, as well as some work with the Bronze and Silver streams.

Coach Dylan is a past member of our programme, having swum with us from 2016-2023, culminating in successful campaigns to NZ Open Champs as well as being a former Canterbury representative.

His thoughtfulness in technical and skill aspects is seen with his ability to connect with swimmers from a range of backgrounds and experience and deliver improvements in a way that resonates and just ‘makes sense’. He’s also a great motivator to help individuals and groups challenge themselves to make physiological change through the tried and true method of hard-work.

Coach Dylan also brings a wealth of experience in dryland training planning and ex*****on through his own development and is keen to build well-rounded swimmers who have the capability to succeed long-term.

Welcome back to the team - We look forward to seeing the impact you have on the programme and igniting the passion for our sport!

Stoked to have been invited to lead some of Selwyn Swim School's training day last week with over a dozen high-level instructors!

The team's discussion on unifying terminology was engaging, and we finished with a united vision for implementation 💪🏽

We also dived into key swimming concepts, aligning their understanding of skills with our programme, and best-practice as per World Aquatics rules.
