๐Ÿƒ The things we see in Te Taiao in Aotearoa ๐Ÿ‘€

๐ŸŒฟ Kawakawa โ€” Piper excelsum
A treasured native rongoฤ plant of Aotearoa, traditionally used by Mฤori for healing and wellbeing. Leaves were infused into teas, chewed for toothache, and wrapped over wounds to support recovery.

Today, kawakawa is still loved in balms, oils, and teas for its soothing and restorative properties.

The bright yellow/orange fruit from female trees โ€” known as Tฤkawa โ€” is edible, with a tropical passionfruit flavour and a spicy peppery kick from the seeds. โœจ
