The Motatapu is a bucket list event with the following awesome events offering challenging yet achievable courses:

Held on one epic day, it is your one chance a year to experience the breathtaking high country terrain and traverse the Motatapu, Soho and Glencoe Stations between Wanaka and Queenstown. It’s a bucket-list off-road event with challenging yet achievable courses, which attracts close to 4000 participants a year. The Motatapu is a hugely enjoyable and social event, famous for its relaxed southern vibe and huge camaraderie.

UDC Finance Miners Trail 2026 age group course record breakers🏃‍♀️🏃
Congrats to these amazing athletes who created their own piece of Motatapu history and broke their age group course records!

Maia Flint - Female 19-29yrs - 1:23:45 hours. Also took home the overall female title for 2026!
Ava Hindrup - Female Junior 16-19yrs - 1:52:06 hours. We are very excited to watch this young runner at future events!
Robert Stewart - Male 70+yrs - 2:08:55 hours. Finishing in the top 75 male athletes overall!
Dympna Boland - Female 40-49yrs - 1:41:07 hours. Beat her own record from 2025 within seconds!

Congrats to these amazing athletes who created their own piece of Motatapu history and broke their age group course records!

Hannah Wall - Female 30-39yrs - 6:53:56 hours. Broke her own record from 2025 by 4 minutes and was only 15 minutes off the overall course female record!!🤯
Honza Vymetal - Male 40-40yrs - 7:19:35 hours. Broken by 26 minutes!
Mark Green - Male 50+yrs - 7:50:29 hours. Broken by 15 minutes!
