Good Evening!

With Term 3 nearing an end we will be running a two day holiday camp in the second week. We are only running two days this time around due to me being overseas with the Queenstown Junior club at a tournament in the Gold Coast and then taking a Girls only team to Christchurch for another tournament.

We will be running our normal after school football programs in Term 4, but wanted to bring you to our very successful Futsal program and our new Advanced Training sessions for anyone who has a son or daughter looking to keep training and developing their game during Term 4.

Plus our brand new offering of match of the day. A social football game only session for Yr 1- Yr3.

Dates: Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th Oct
Venue: Queenstown
Time: 09:00 - 12pm (5-6 Years) / 09:00 -3pm (7-13)
Ages 5 -13. Boys and Girls.
Cost $25 Half day 5-6 Yrs) $50 (7-13)

Futsal - Saturday. (Maximum 16 per session)
Venue: Shotover Primary School Hall.
Dates: Saturday 17th Oct - Saturday 12th Dec (9 weeks)
Times:
U11-U10: 10:00am -11:00am
U9-U7: 11:00am -12pm
Cost $140

Tuesdays: Academy or higher (8 or 9 year olds considered, please email if interested)
Thursdays: Community Club players

Dates: Tuesday 20th Oct - Thursday 26th Nov.
Venues:
Tuesdays: QEC
Thursdays: Lower Shotover
Time: 4.15pm - 5.30pm.
Levels: Intermediate or higher.
Ages: 10-15.

Cost $40 per session or $180 per term.

ℹ️ TWA Wakatipu highschool football.

This week I had the opportunity to volunteer my time coaching the Wakatipu highschool football squad at the national secondary school tournament in Dunedin.

Early part of the week was about coping with the cold weather and sickness.

The end was about coping with the pressure of finals football.

With a very young team of predominantly Yr 10 and Yr 11s with three Year 12s I'm delighted and proud of our association with local football as we finish 4th.

A great privilege was being asked to manage and present the boys who have made 25 appearances with school caps.

Two more weeks of our first ever Futsal program, being away this week with the highschool boys team, clearly the boys at Futsal were excited to be back.

Te Mahi Ako is excited to offer a fully funded New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3), designed specifically for beginner and developing community coaches. We'd love your support in sharing this opportunity across your clubs, regions, and coaching networks (flier attached)
Why it matters:
This practical, nationally recognised qualification helps coaches build confidence and capability while continuing to coach in their own environment. Participants learn through real coaching experiences and develop skills in:
Building positive relationships with athletes
Planning, delivering and reviewing coaching sessions
Creating safe, inclusive and supportive environments
Managing health, safety and injury prevention
Understanding their coaching identity
Reflecting on and improving their coaching practice

This self-directed programme is delivered online over approximately eight months, supported by experienced facilitators, assessors, learner support staff, and a community of coaches from across Aotearoa.
For clubs & sporting organisations, this is an opportunity to strengthen coaching capability across affiliated clubs and regions, support coach development pathways, and ultimately improve participant experiences throughout your sport.
The qualification is free for eligible New Zealand and Australian citizens and residents, making it an accessible professional development opportunity for community coaches.

Part of our long standing commitment to developing girls football and Futsal opportunities we will be running a new term 4 Futsal program.

Girls Only Futsal Term 4.
Maximum 14 players
Dates: Saturday 17th Oct - Saturday 5th Dec (8 weeks)
Venue: Shotover Primary School Hall
Time: 09.30- 10:00am
Ages 10 -13 yrs
Cost $80

9 Year olds who have played Futsal in Term 3 with QAFC will be accepted, along with girls who are keen and are 14 or 15 Year of age.
