Last night we were also proud to see some of our Geraldine representatives take home SC awards.

Well done Rich, JB, Sarah, Georaeah, Tua and Te on winning the following awards, this is such an achievement to be acknowledged at a high level within our region!

We are proud as punch! 😮‍💨

For those that know me, you’ll know that from day one of stepping into the role of Club President, I had one goal - to see us win Club of the Year. Tonight, we did just that! 🌟

To say I’m proud is an understatement. What an absolute honour and privilege it was to accept this award on behalf of our club. This recognition means so much more than results on the field - and more than the game itself. It’s about everything that happens behind the scenes, through all ages and stages of rugby, the countless hours, the determination to be better in every aspect of the game to every person involved in the game and club, the hard work that happens when nobody is watching, the commitment that continues long after one season ends and before the next one begins.

It’s about the volunteers who give up their time, the players who proudly wear the red and black jersey, the coaches and managers who put in the work, the supporters who turn up week in and week out, the sponsors who back us and the Geraldine community who continue to stand behind our club. It’s about who we pride ourselves as and setting that standard higher for ourselves than what we know is achievable.

Geraldine last received this award in 2017, 9 years later to see our clubs name engraved on the trophy once again is something incredibly special and a dream come true.

I’m beyond proud of what we’ve achieved at Geraldine Rugby Club but even prouder of the people who make our club what it is. This is what being part of a club is all about, more so what being part of Geraldine Rugby Club is about.

Club of Year for 2026 - your reminder that red and black looks good on everyone and another reason to join us (again) next season! ❤️🖤

Here’s your reminder for our AGM! 🗓️

Geraldine Rugby Clubs AGM will be on Sunday the 15th of November at 3pm.

As is the same every year, all committee positions are up for election and are voted in by a nomination process. Roles such as President, Vice-President, Club Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Bar Manager, Age Grade Delegates and General Committee Members.

If you’re keen to hear what hard work has been going on behind the scenes, have some topics for discussion or suggestions for our club then we want to see you.

We welcome any help and anyone passionate about our club wanting to be involved. As the old saying goes “many hands make light work”, and that couldn’t be truer in a non-profit environment.

There are always whispers of what we should be doing and how we could be doing better, so if you want these ideas to come to light, come and have your say, more so jump on the committee or take on a role. With that, it’s important to know that this is a seasonal commitment you’d be making to our club, this means you’d be committing to November 2026-November 2027 and agreeing to adhere to our Clubs Constitution.

If you’d like to put your name forward for next seasons committee, take on an executive role or have a nomination for a life membership please email Courtney no later than the 18th of October.

If you’re unable to make it on the day but keen to be have something for discussion please send an apology and items to Scotty at [email protected].
