We aim to have a friendly, approachable club, with the emphasis very much on the children learning and having fun with their ponies.Being a small club,we really appreciate/need all the help parent members can give, to enable this to happen. All parents/caregiver members are encouraged to attend regular pony club meetings , when they can. This is a great way to learn about the club, become involved in the decisions that affect our children, and meet other like minded parents. When visiting our club for the first time, you will be asked to sign a Visitor/Casual member health & safety form, that has some important information to be aware of as below -

FREE MICROCHIPS AVAILABLE FOR HORSES & PONIES

Did you know free microchips are currently available for non-racing horses and ponies through participating veterinary clinics?

Thanks to an initiative supported by LOVERACING.NZ NZ Thoroughbred Racing and the New Zealand Equine Health Association, 1,600 microchips have been made available nationwide.

Why microchip your horse?

βœ” permanent identification
βœ” supports breed registration
βœ” helps with traceability and ownership records
βœ” supports responsible horse ownership
βœ” can be completed during a routine vet visit

If you are currently registering a horse or pony with a breed society, a NEIT microchip can often be used as part of the identification process.

If your horse is already booked in for gelding, dental work, vaccinations, or another vet visit, it may be a good opportunity to have a microchip inserted at the same time.

Simply ask your local vet if they are an Approved NEIT Implanter.

Please note that while the microchip is free, your vet may charge a consultation or implantation fee.

⚠️ Also important: As of 9 May 2026, hot branding of horses, ponies, and donkeys is no longer permitted in New Zealand. Microchipping and freeze branding remain available identification options.

Microchipping is one more way we can support responsible horse ownership and horse welfare.

Good horse welfare starts with knowledgeable owners making informed decisions for their horses.

WHY CERTIFICATES STILL MATTER

Pony Club certificates are more than passing an exam.

They help riders develop:
βœ” safe horsemanship
βœ” horse welfare understanding
βœ” riding skills
βœ” responsibility
βœ” communication
βœ” leadership

The NZPCA certificate pathway is built on structured progression and step-by-step learning, with each level building the foundations for the next.

That progression helps riders develop safely, correctly, and with confidence β€” both inside and beyond Pony Club.

School bags on the floor, emails still pinging, and little tummies rumbling.
Just heat and serve. No prep. No stress.

Because dinner time should be about catching up, not catching up on chores.
