Hawkes Bay Kayak Racing Club inc To develop, grow and promote the sport of sprint kayaking within the Hawkes Bay Region Our club is based at Farndon Park on the banks of the Cive River.

The Hawkes Bay Kayak Racing Club was formed in October 2005 after members from three of Hawkes Bays Surf Life Saving Clubs wanted the opportunity to affiiate to the national kayak racing body. Over the last 10 years the club has enjoyed great success producing quality athetes who have won national titles and have gone on to represent our country at an international level.

Less than 1 month until the 2026 Watersports Marathon Challenge in Hawkes Bay, the ultimate paddling wknd for all paddlers.

3 marathon events over two days - short course, long course and team boats. Do 1, 2 or all 3! Open to paddling craft (kayaks, ski, multisport boats, sea kayaks waka, SUP), this is a divisional event meaning you race against paddlers of a similar speed/ability, rather than in craft categories or age groups. That means, whoever you are, you are guaranteed an exciting and competitive race!

This event is the selection event for the 2026 ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships.

More International action from Europe this evening. Good luck everyone

The 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint & Paracanoe World Cup in Brandenburg, Germany gets underway tonight (Thursday 14th May 7.00pm NZT) continuing the international season for our sprinters, with this event featuring two of our paracanoe athletes.

The event runs from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th May and more than 850 athletes from 60 nations will compete at the Beetzsee Regatta Course. It is a vital event in the olympic qualification journey for the NZ team, with qualification ranking points up for grabs. It also marks the first time Paracanoe paddlers will race on the international stage in 2026 and will offer the chance to gain Paralympic Ranking points in the race to Los Angeles 2028.

More international action in our kayak world this weekend as the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup gets underway in Szeged, Hungary.

Hawke’s Bay paddlers Aimee Fisher and Hamish Legarth will once again be representing New Zealand on the world stage, proudly wearing the fern and giving it their all.

Aimee will compete in the K1 and K4, while Hamish lines up in the K2 and K4.

This marks the beginning of the olympic qualification journey for the NZ team, with qualification ranking points up for grabs - best of luck to you all!!!

Congratulations to NZ on taking out the Asia Pacific Sprint Cup

A huge shoutout to our Hawke’s Bay paddlers - every one of them bringing home a medal.

An outstanding performance across the board, with the team doing themselves and the Bay seriously proud on the international stage.

Special mention to Greer Hambleton - an incredible debut for NZ, claiming 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
