Champions coming to Napier: Auckland FC to play first ever game at McLean Park 💥

Football fans will get their chance to see New Zealand's newest football powerhouse in action, with Auckland FC confirmed to play a pre-season fixture against Western Sydney Wanderers at Napier's McLean Park on Saturday 19 September 🙌

Tickets will go on sale at Ticketek on Wednesday September 2.

And that's a wrap! Haumoana Football Club prizegiving for the 2026 junior football season is all done!

Congratulations to all of our players and the recipients of the awards. Thanks to all for a fabulous season with the best little community football club ever! 170 players. 25 teams.

Lots of smiles, fun, laughter, goals, fitness, ball skills, friends, support, coaching, learning, cheering and a bit of mud thrown in for fun here and there too!

How good is Friday night looking this week. Campbell and his new band, Pocket, will be live from 7pm and we can’t wait!

Also a huge weekend for NPC rugby, kicking off with the Magpies playing tonight at 7.10pm V Southland.

We will have all the NPC games on over the weekend and then Sunday at 4pm we have the Warriors live to round out the week!!!

We have the fire on, but Spring is here next week right, so it will be warm again??? And Friday night live music means dancing, and that always warms everyone up!

⚽️ UNISON MEDAL CEREMONY

⚽️ Tonight we recognise one special player from each of the Haumoana Football teams (from 8th to 12th grade) with a well-earned Unison Medal at the Unison Ceremony in Napier ⚽️👏

⚽️ The Unison Medal recognises players who have made a special contribution to their team throughout the season through their commitment, effort, attitude, teamwork and love for the game.

⚽️ This year our recipients are:

The Unison Medal Ceremonies are back next month, recognising one standout player from every Taupō junior hockey team and from Hawke’s Bay junior hockey, netball, football and rugby teams.

We're celebrating tamariki who’ve shown fair play, great work ethic and discipline 👏

Nomination info has been sent to all sports codes to share with clubs and schools.

Well done Dusty!!

Our fifth and final Good Sports for 2026 is Dusty Evans from the Haumoana Football Club 👏⚽

Dusty was nominated for his outstanding attitude both on and off the field. He plays fair, trains hard, gives 100% in everything he does, and is a fantastic teammate who works well with everyone around him.

This past weekend, The Breeze Hawke's Bay 97.5FM team suprised Dusty at the Unison Football Festival with his Good Sports certificate, a $50 voucher and a goodie bag 🎉
