Nobody scrolls past a video because it's not polished enough. They scroll past it because there's no person in it.

That's the magic of video.

10x10x10 is built around four things:

Clarity
Know what you're saying 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 the camera's on.

Connection
Real beats polished, every time.

Conversation
The video's job is to start one, not finish it.

Consistency
Ten videos is a month of content, not one post.

120+ business owners have been through it since 2024.

Wrote up how it actually plays out with some client examples.

I didn't think I was going to make a difference.

A prospect rang me last Thursday and said "I've got a talk in Spain next week and I need some help with my public speaking".

"When are leaving?", I asked.

11 June.

I met him that afternoon for a consultation in Takapuna.

He laid out the context...

A 10 min talk
A scientific conference
An audience of people with PhD's

and he's an academic of the theory of "thinking".

Holy moley.

A left-brain, super-smart, data-driven, jargon-filled talk.

"I really need your help, John"

😱

We set three sessions over five days.

The first rehearsal was incomprehensible and 16 mins long.

We worked on...

His structure

πŸ‘‰ Opening - hypothesis - two points - close (10 mins)

Including a story, a case study, some metaphors and killer hook

His visual and vocal presence was passable but his structure needed work

He fought for his language and complexity

His data, his research, his thinking

"IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU" I said.

Here's the problem...
This is what I found...
Here's what it means for you...

It wasn't until the third session yesterday that the magic happened.

A personal story hook opening - a short hypothesis and summary - two clearly articulated points with metaphors, a historical case study and a call to action (although he called it something else)

9.5 mins.

Hallelujah!

"I'm so happy" he said with beaming smile.

The moral of this story...

You don't need to be a great speaker

πŸ’₯ But structure will set you free. πŸ’₯

Celebrating our second birthday. πŸŽ‚ πŸŽ‰

10x10x10 update.

Since launching in June 2024 in Auckland we now have 12 videographers in NZ and the USA.

Video pros really love this product because they get to use it like a tool in their production toolkit.

When I say "there's no pre or post production",

their eyes light up. πŸ’₯

For our clients, they say "you make this video thing really easy".

It such a joy to see very nervous first-time clients post their vids with confidence.

That's why 10x10x10 exists.

A few highlights;

πŸ’™ We now have a video pro in Tauranga

πŸ’™ Wellington & Christchurch likely in next six weeks

πŸ’™ Had our first USA filming in Dallas Texas

πŸ’™ Onboarded another video pro in San Diego & Atlanta

πŸ’™ Initial conversations on capital raising 😱

πŸ’™ Auckland clients returning for second & third time

πŸ’™ Testing ads to new 10x10x10 dot video website

It's cool when you have a vision and it starts to pay off.

Not without plenty of headaches along the way, though.

But thanks to clients, videographer partners and the supporters.

Let's go.

Quiet doesn't close deals ❌

After 7 years of speaker coaching, I've noticed something.

Most of the proposals landing in my inbox lately aren't from people who want to give keynotes.

They're from introverted experts.

Accountants, financial advisers, consultants.

People who are exceptional at what they do but struggle to articulate their value to the right people.

And here's the thing.

They don't need to become a performer.

They need a plan that fits who they are.

That usually looks like:

πŸ‘‰ A clear, jargon-free message that actually connects

πŸ‘‰ Showing up consistently on LinkedIn without it feeling fake

πŸ‘‰ Comfortable networking (with a little speaking)

πŸ‘‰ Learning to tell short stories for every setting

πŸ‘‰ Eventually, short videos that build trust on their terms

No stages required.

No forced extroversion.

The biggest shift I see?

When a quiet expert stops trying to communicate like everyone else and starts communicating like themselves, people notice.

Clients notice.

Conversations start.

The expertise was always there.

The visibility wasn't.

πŸ’™

So, I'm leaning in to help them be visible.

If you want accountability and support (kick up the *ss) to achieve your business goals and be seen, I'd love to talk.

‼️ What is the biggest headache for introverted experts?

If you don't comment, I understand πŸ˜‰, send me a DM.

When clients become friends πŸ’™

He's a super-smart virtual CFO and I'm a speaker coach.

Naturally, there's things that he brings to the conversation that are completely lost on me and vice versa.

He's still asking me to do a spreadsheet with a whole bunch of numbers and I'm completely lost.

"Can't you do it for me, Tony"

"It cost you, John"

"OK, my shout for fried chicken and beers at BBC on Sunday".

Tony did some 10x10x10 videos with me and the relationship grew organically from there.

I love listening for his thinking.

Truth be told, he likes a little bit of attention.

Who knew that about smart CFO's?

Anyway, thank you Tony for being my corner.

Thanks for being a mate.

What an epic marketers day 2026. Sadly I didn't get to be in the room as I was hosting a special edition of the TMC podcast, interviewing a selection of speakers and guests. They brought the energy of the people. ⚑ πŸ’₯ πŸ”₯

Together with my trusty partner, cameraman & marketer Downes we got an exclusive 1:1 audience with the speakers.

The theme of the one-day conference was "Momentum"

I asked them...

Where are you seeing momentum in business?
Share a story of a client or team who's shown momentum?
Where's the hidden gem for marketers in the next 12 months?
What they loved about marketers day?
If you're a marketer, why you should be in the room 2027?
One word to describe marketers day.

The last question was anything from "epic", "connection", "love", "vibes", "chaos" and "family".

In a world dominated by AI, everyone leaned in on face to face connection.

A simple smile.

A nod of acknowledgement.

There's nothing else like it.

Humans connecting with humans.

Highlighting a few speakers who stood out for me were (their stories) Jess Bovey, Tom Horton, Cassandra Grodd, Roimata Wilkey, Stanley Henry, Carsten Grueber, Ekant Veer, Sindy Ward, Andy Havill, Stephen Toms and a special guest in a pink blazer Janine Chamley.

πŸ‘€ Follow the TMC channels for this awesome content.

The real heroes of TMC are the purple shirts.

The epic humans who... just...bring...the...energy and get sh*t done.

I'm grateful to be in your presence and witness first hand how much, like me, you love this TMC community.

I love ya.

And Chanel Clark, Stu Lees and Andrea Halal, just wow, eh?
