bioSPORT has a new home!

Last week I opened my new in Newmarket, Auckland.

Accordingly, all my bioSPORT services, which absolutely will continue as per, will now be run out of Bone Health Studio.

BHS, if interested, is a custom built site where we treat those suffering from osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, RED-S and more.

It is also the perfect site for bioSPORT as I can now do all my heavy lifting, plyo and sport-specifics in one place.

So it’s no more Orakei, and more sadly, no more - my old home away from home.

Pop in for a look some time…..Bone Health Studio is located at 11b McColl St, Newmarket. Note: access is via Roxburgh St.

Today was an epic day. Kirst and I drove to Hamilton last night so that we could do a Kilometres for Kids walk w Grandma Duck on her 85km Starship Hospital challenge.

She currently the leader across the board. Over $7000.

Personally, I owe Starship my daughter’s life. That may sound dramatic and excessive but it’s not.

So please, if you haven’t already and are in a position to do so, please support my mums Starship fundraising.

Thank you, from me, mum and Mieke. X

15 years in the Women’s Kayak Team together, 30+ years of friendship, and now the former is coming to an end.

I vividly remember during our Sport Science years at Auckland Uni, that if anyone in our class was going to change the world it was you Gordy, and boy, was I right.

My heart is full for you. You have taught me so very, very much, not just as a coach to a support staff member, but as a friend who thinks deeper, looks further and commits more than anyone I know.

So thanks Boss, for having me as a cog in this world beating team you have built. I have never been pushed harder clinically, and I wouldn’t change a single moment of it all.

PS: now you can spend more time mastering more BBQ techniques and passing them down to me…..

*If you register your obligation-free interest, we will send you a complete breakdown of how the pilot programme will work.

I am quietly claustrophobic. I’m not quiet how much I love nature, and this profoundly beautiful country that I call home.

So yesterday and I took our on a truly epic experience: in Waitomo.

As a clinician I am constantly pushing clients and athletes into spaces that make them feel uncomfortable. So pulling up my big boy pants we (literally) dived head first into a life changing caving (or more technically, my new fave word: spelunking) experience. And I was FINE!

Our guides were sensational, the glow worms glowed, and it I didn’t freak out. And I’m proud of that.

10/10 recommend: the experience AND pushing into the uncomfortable.

Happy Easter RUNNERS!

For the week of Easter, using the code EASTER25 at checkout, will give you the first month to The Efficient Runner course FREE. Link in bio.

If you need reminding what’s there, scroll through the post, but there is SO MUCH MORE than this.

It’s quite simply the best no bullsh%t running course there is. It’s ACTUALLY what you need to be a stronger runner. No time wasting.

Go have a look through. I suspect you’ll be impressed. Just saying.

I had the great privilege of engaging with the NZ Trampoline squad this morning at the club.

We went through the testing protocol for core stability, and why most athletes fail basic testing. We looked at how poor trunk and shoulder control can negatively effect whole body control in the air, and we also went through the significance of the different types of plyometrics (extensive and intensive) for injury prevention and leg stiffness efficiency.

And these guys can jump! My very low grade fear of heights kicked in just watching them!

Thanks so much Coach Angie and team for having me.
