🏔️ The Great Naseby Water Race 200 Mile – What an Adventure!
60 hours. 200 miles. 1 unforgettable journey.
Coach Maree and I made the long trek from the North Island down to Naseby — camper, crew, and all — ready for another crack at this wild race. From the first lap, it was about rhythm, patience, and staying true to the Lydiard principles: aerobic effort, consistency, and trust in the process.
Through the day and deep into the night, my crew kept me fuelled and focused. The second night was tough — cold, fatigue, and those moments where the miles start to blur — but we just kept moving. Loop after loop, one step at a time.
Crossing the line after 200 miles in 60 hours and 48 minutes — a 5-hour PB — made every challenge worth it.
Massive thanks to my wife, Coach Maree, my family, and friends who kept me going every step of the way.
This race reminded me why we do this — to test limits, to grow, and to find joy in the journey.
