Weiti Boating Club

Weiti Boating Club Situated at the end of Fairhaven Walk, the Club is nestled on the banks of the Weiti River. Members can enjoy the panoramic views from there all year round.

Situated at the end of Fairhaven Walk, the Weiti Boating Club is nestled on the banks of the Weiti (Wade) River on the beautiful Whangaparaoa Peninsula. The club was started by a handful of volunteers in 1968 with only a caravan and a shed for club facilities. Today the clubhouse sits on the rivers edge with the tidal waters gliding quietly under the wrap-around deck. The members yachts & launche

s are just a short row from the all tide jetty. Once on your boat, it's just a few minutes until you are out in what is undoubtedly one of the worlds best nautical playgrounds - the Hauraki Gulf. The clubrooms are used for after-race prizegivings, barbeques, social functions etc. There is a bar with a club license too. The club rooms can be made available to club members for private functions.

Hi Everyone. We're off to Kawau again for Race 4 of the Burnsco Summer Cruising series. Start time on Friday is 6pm. Start line will be in the vicinity of Arkles Bay. Course 3 to Kawau (same as last time). Should be a nice fresh sou'wester to blow us all there before it gets too late. BBQ / prizegiving will be at 4pm Saturday on the lawn next to Lidgard House in Lidgard Bay. GHYC will be there too, for a great Christmas get-together! You'll have plenty of time on Saturday to catch a fish so hopefully we can have some competition for the fishing prize! The weather is looking amazing for the whole weekend and we look forward to seeing you all out there! Note - we'll be leaving the river on an outgoing tide, so check the tide charts and make sure you allow enough water for your boat to cross the bar safely. Happy sailing! ⛵️⛵️⛵️🎣🐬🥃🍺🍾🌭🥂🎊

It's great to see so many Weiti boats out there and competing at a high level in some of the bigger races.

Kick Elliott 1050 Yachting was on form in the recent Cavalli Island race taking Line honors and second overall for the 2 handed division as well 2nd overall out of the whole fleet on phrf. A great warm up for the up and coming SSANZ round north island 2 handed race in February.

We wish Kelcey Gager and crew all the best for the Pied Piper intergalactic championships this weekend. Let's hope they can continue their good form after such a dominant performance in the Weiti 2 handed windward leward series.
Best of luck team!

Last Saturday was the 3rd race of the Burnsco summer cruising series. 8 boats lined up in a light southeasterly for the sail to Kawau. Quintessence lead the fleet to Navy bouy closely followed by Slowhand. From here the race turned into a test of patience and concentration as the breeze faded with many crews wondering if they were going to make the 5hr time limit. With a massive pod of dolphins turning up half the fleet decided dolphin watching was a much better idea and retired. With a light southwesterly filling in Chockwalla slipped through to narrowly take line honors from Quintessence and Slowhand. Norseman sailed exceptionaly well with great perseverance in trying conditions to easily win on handicap. Mansion house turned on a beautiful evening for the BBQ and prize giving and it was great to see boats that didn't race turning up for the social event.
Results
Line honors Chokkawalla
Handicap 1st Norseman
2nd Chokkawalla
3rd Slowhand
4th Quintessence

It was great to see a good turnout of boats last weekend for the first race of the Burnsco Summer Cruising Series. This was a combined race with GHYC and we had 19 boats all up, with 7 from WBC and 12 from GHYC. It was an enjoyable fast sail up to Mahurangi. A great time was had at the beach BBQ on Saturday afternoon at Sullivans Bay and it was nice to see some non-racing boats turn up as well. It was also great to see some new club members joining in. Top three race placings were: 1st Quintessence, 2nd Rummager, 3rd Slow Hand. The Fishing Direct NZ fishing prize was taken out by Shell Shock. Looking forward to the next race on 8th November.
