🚀 Launching activities to introduce the electronic legal aid platform Microjustice Egypt in Cairo Governorate
Within the framework of enhancing women’s access to services and information that support their rights and enabling them to obtain appropriate support, a meeting was held with civil society organizations in Cairo Governorate in cooperation with the Corporation for Development Services (CDS) to announce the platform and introduce its goals and services.
The meeting witnessed a review of the role of partners from civil society organizations in promoting the platform and integrating its services into the activities and programs provided to targeted women, which contributes to expanding the scope of benefit from services and reaching the largest number of women who need support and advice.
The pivotal role of partner associations was also emphasized in supporting women who need assistance in reading and understanding the services related to their cases, and supporting them in completing the client form data and creating cases on the platform in a way that ensures easy access to and benefit from services.
The idea of the platform was welcomed and greatly interacted by the attendees, as a number of association representatives expressed their interest in cooperating with the project partners by organizing seminars and introductory meetings, whether for women targeted by the associations’ programs or for lawyers working with them, with the aim of spreading awareness of the platform’s services, enhancing benefit from them, and expanding the reach of the target groups.
We look forward to effective partnerships that contribute to supporting and empowering more women in Cairo Governorate and facilitating their access to services that meet their needs.

🚀 انطلاق أنشطة التعريف بمنصة المساعدات القانونية الالكترونية مايكروجاستس ايجيبت بمحافظة القاهرة
في إطار تعزيز وصول النساء إلى الخدمات والمعلومات الداعمة لحقوقهن وتمكينهن من الحصول على المساندة المناسبة، تم عقد لقاء مع الجمعيات الأهلية بمحافظة القاهرة بالتعاون مع مؤسسة خدمات التنمية (CDS) للإعلان عن المنصة والتعريف بأهدافها وخدماتها.
شهد اللقاء استعراض دور الشركاء من الجمعيات الأهلية في الترويج للمنصة ودمج خدماتها ضمن الأنشطة والبرامج المقدمة للسيدات المستهدفات، بما يسهم في توسيع نطاق الاستفادة من الخدمات والوصول إلى أكبر عدد من النساء اللاتي يحتجن إلى الدعم والمشورة.
كما تم التأكيد على الدور المحوري للجمعيات الشريكة في مساندة النساء اللاتي يحتجن إلى المساعدة في قراءة وفهم الخدمات المرتبطة بقضاياهن، ودعمهن في استكمال بيانات استمارة العميل وإنشاء القضايا على المنصة بما يضمن سهولة الوصول إلى الخدمات والاستفادة منها.
وقد لاقت فكرة المنصة ترحيبًا وتفاعلًا كبيرًا من الحضور، حيث أبدى عدد من ممثلي الجمعيات اهتمامهم بالتعاون مع شركاء المشروع من خلال تنظيم ندوات ولقاءات تعريفية، سواء للسيدات المستهدفات من برامج الجمعيات أو للمحامين العاملين معها، بهدف نشر الوعي بخدمات المنصة وتعزيز الاستفادة منها وتوسيع نطاق الوصول إلى الفئات المستهدفة.
نتطلع إلى شراكات فعالة تسهم في دعم وتمكين المزيد من النساء بمحافظة القاهرة وتيسير حصولهن على الخدمات التي تلبي احتياجاتهن.

We remember on April 28, a focus meeting was held with 20 lawyers from the governorates of Minya, Ismailia and Cairo at the headquarters of CDS, the company assisting in conducting the barometer for the concerned governorates, the meeting was led by Patricia van Nispen.

We remember the workshop in Assiut (April 20 and 21)
📌 Day Two
On April 21, 2026, the workshop continued in Assiut with a focus on logistical coordination, communication strategies, and technical support mechanisms. Partners reviewed audiovisual materials and outreach tools designed to strengthen dissemination and ensure the project’s success.

It was agreed that the initiative will be implemented for three months in the partner governorates, renewable based on performance, with each partner allocated budget.

Further discussions with lawyers advanced the barometer research, emphasizing their role in reinforcing legal awareness and protection efforts within their respective governorates.

في 21 أبريل 2026، استؤنفت ورشة العمل في أسيوط، حيث ركزت على التنسيق اللوجستي، واستراتيجيات التواصل، وآليات الدعم الفني. واستعرض الشركاء المواد السمعية والبصرية وأدوات التوعية المصممة لتعزيز النشر وضمان نجاح المشروع.

واتُفق على تنفيذ المبادرة لمدة ثلاثة أشهر في المحافظات الشريكة، قابلة للتجديد بناءً على الأداء، مع تخصيص ميزانية لكل شريك.

وأسفرت مناقشات إضافية مع المحامين عن تطوير البحث الاستقصائي، مؤكدةً دورهم في تعزيز الوعي القانوني وجهود الحماية في محافظاتهم.

We remember the workshop in Assiut (April 20 and 21)

On April 20, 2026, the Diocesan Development Office in Assiut convened the first day of a workshop with six partner institutions from Cairo, Minya, Sohag, Qena, and Ismailia.

1- Jazur Development Foundation - Cairo

3- IDAM - Minya
4- New Life Foundation - Sohag
5- Community Development Association in Al-Arki - Qena
6- IDDO - Ismailia

The sessions engaged organizational representatives and coordinators in presenting the Women’s Legal Protection and Awareness Project, reviewing project documentation, and holding open discussions to clarify objectives and expected outcomes.

In parallel, Microjustice Director, lead sessions with participating lawyers to initiate barometer research across the governorates, establishing a foundation for evidence-based insights to guide future project activities.

في 20 أبريل 2026، عقد مكتب التنمية الأبرشي في أسيوط اليوم الأول من ورشة عمل مع ست مؤسسات شريكة من القاهرة والمنيا وسوهاج وقنا والإسماعيلية.

تضمنت الجلسات مشاركة ممثلي المؤسسات ومنسقيها في عرض مشروع الحماية القانونية للمرأة والتوعية بها، ومراجعة وثائق المشروع، وعقد مناقشات مفتوحة لتوضيح الأهداف والنتائج المتوقعة.

بالتوازي مع ذلك، قاد مدير منظمة العدالة المصغرة جلسات مع المحامين المشاركين لإطلاق بحث استقصائي في المحافظات، بهدف وضع أساس لرؤى قائمة على الأدلة لتوجيه أنشطة المشروع المستقبلية.

🚀 EmpowerHer - innovation in legal services to empower women in rural areas:
The Launch of the Microjustice Digital Legal Aid Platform in Upper Egypt

We are very happy to announce a major milestone in our mission to close the justice gap! This past Saturday 14 February in Asyut, Microjustice and its partner the Eparchial Development Office in Assiut (EDO) officially launched our Digital Legal Aid Platform and the legal rights protection barometer report Upper Egypt. This Project receives the financial support of the Slovenian and Dutch Embassies in Cairo.

This initiative is a core part of the Legal Awareness raising and legal aid for Women Working in Agriculture in Rural Areas in Upper Egypt. By leveraging digital transformation, we provide rural women transparent information on their day-to-day justice needs.

With transparent information, direct access to legal consultations and a specialized lawyers' network, the Platform ensures that justice is never out of reach.

A Collaborative Vision for Justice
The launch event started the blessing of His Grace Bishop Daniel Lotfy (Coptic Catholic Diocese of Assiut), who emphasized the vital importance of protecting and sustaining these digital tools to ensure long-term impact for women in Egypt.

We were honored by the participation of:
• Father Matteos Shenouda (General Director of EDO), who highlighted their deep spiritual and social commitment to women’s empowerment.
• Mr. Hany Fawzy (Executive Director), who outlined our shared goal of building a sustainable, comprehensive legal support network.
• Amira Eshak (Project Manager), who presented the inspiring progress of this journey so far.

Our Director Patricia van Nispen tot Sevenaer, representing the Microjustice team, explained the day-to-day legal needs, from birth (birth certificate, for which you need marriage certificate of parents, to death (certificate), and all legal needs in between those major events during life time, to marry, divorce, related to the children, inheritance, work-related needs (employment, setting up a business, rent /land agricultural land), housing (property, rent). Women groups’ in Asyut had expressed their gratitude to have transparent information in all these fields how to arrange their legal needs in terms of costs, requirements, documents needed, steps, duration, and how to get a lawyer, including his costs and his/her service. These women said that this transparency has already changed their life.

Patricia expressed our immense gratitude for the cooperation with EDO, the most professional and effective organization Microjustice has worked with in the past 30 years of work on legal empowerment. As she noted during the ceremony, this is more than just an app; it is a "qualitative leap" in empowering women in rural areas.

Innovation in Action
One of the event's highlights was an immersive presentation led by artist Mina Fawzy and AI specialist George Anwar. Through a creative blend of live performance and artificial intelligence visuals, they brought the platform’s vision to life, demonstrating how technology can be a powerful ally in the fight for legal protection.

We also gained valuable insights from:
• Senator Magdy Selim, on the importance of legislation for women in the workplace.
• Ahmed El-Badrawy (Dean of the South Assiut Bar Association), open to cooperation in the Microjustice legal aid Platform, taking it step to step.

What’s Next?
While this is the first platform of its kind in the Assiut Governorate, it is only the beginning. At Microjustice-EDO, we are already looking toward the future, with plans to expand this digital protection to other governorates across Egypt in the near future.

🚀 تمكين المرأة - ابتكار في الخدمات القانونية لتمكين المرأة في المناطق الريفية:

إطلاق منصة مايكروجستس للمساعدة القانونية الرقمية في صعيد مصر

يسرّنا الإعلان عن إنجاز هام في مهمتنا لسدّ فجوة العدالة! يوم السبت الماضي، الموافق 14 فبراير، في أسيوط، أطلقت مايكروجستس وشريكها، مكتب التنمية الأبرشي في أسيوط، رسميًا منصة المساعدة القانونية الرقمية وتقرير مؤشر حماية الحقوق القانونية في صعيد مصر. يحظى هذا المشروع بدعم مالي من سفارتي سلوفينيا وهولندا في القاهرة.

تُعدّ هذه المبادرة جزءًا أساسيًا من جهود التوعية القانونية وتقديم المساعدة القانونية للنساء العاملات في الزراعة بالمناطق الريفية في صعيد مصر. من خلال الاستفادة من التحوّل الرقمي، نوفر للنساء الريفيات معلومات شفافة حول احتياجاتهنّ اليومية في مجال العدالة.

بفضل المعلومات الشفافة، والوصول المباشر إلى الاستشارات القانونية، وشبكة من المحامين المتخصصين، تضمن المنصة أن تكون العدالة في متناول الجميع.

رؤية تعاونية للعدالة
بدأ حفل الإطلاق بمباركة نيافة الأنبا دانيال لطفي (أسقف أبرشية أسيوط القبطية الكاثوليكية)، الذي أكد على الأهمية البالغة لحماية هذه الأدوات الرقمية ودعمها لضمان أثرها الإيجابي طويل الأمد على المرأة في مصر.

تشرفنا بمشاركة كل من:

• الأب ماتيوس شنودة (المدير العام لمنظمة EDO)، الذي سلط الضوء على التزامهم الروحي والاجتماعي العميق بتمكين المرأة.

• السيد هاني فوزي (المدير التنفيذي)، الذي أوضح هدفنا المشترك المتمثل في بناء شبكة دعم قانوني شاملة ومستدامة.

• أميرة إسحاق (مديرة المشروع)، التي قدمت عرضًا ملهمًا عن التقدم المحرز في هذه المسيرة حتى الآن.

شرحت مديرتنا باتريشيا فان نيسبن توت سيفينير، ممثلةً فريق مايكروجستس، الاحتياجات القانونية اليومية، بدءًا من الميلاد (شهادة الميلاد، والتي تتطلب شهادة زواج الوالدين)، وصولًا إلى الوفاة (شهادة الوفاة)، وجميع الاحتياجات القانونية بين هاتين المرحلتين المهمتين في حياة المرأة، كالزواج والطلاق، وقضايا الأطفال، والميراث، والاحتياجات المتعلقة بالعمل (التوظيف، وتأسيس مشروع تجاري، واستئجار الأراضي الزراعية)، والسكن (العقارات، والإيجار). وقد أعربت مجموعات نسائية في أسيوط عن امتنانها لتوفير معلومات شفافة في جميع هذه المجالات حول كيفية تلبية احتياجاتهن القانونية من حيث التكاليف والمتطلبات والوثائق اللازمة والخطوات والمدة، وكيفية الحصول على محامٍ، بما في ذلك أتعابه ورسومه. وأكدت هؤلاء النساء أن هذه الشفافية قد غيرت حياتهن بالفعل.

كما أعربت باتريشيا عن امتناننا العميق للتعاون مع منظمة EDO، وهي المنظمة الأكثر احترافية وفعالية التي عملت معها مايكروجستس على مدار الثلاثين عامًا الماضية في مجال التمكين القانوني. وكما أشارت خلال الحفل، فإن هذا ليس مجرد تطبيق، بل هو "قفزة نوعية" في تمكين المرأة. في المناطق الريفية.

الابتكار في الممارسة
كان من أبرز فعاليات الحدث عرضٌ تفاعليٌّ قدمته الفنانة مينا فوزي والمتخصص في الذكاء الاصطناعي جورج أنور. من خلال مزيجٍ إبداعيٍّ من الأداء الحيّ والعروض المرئية بتقنية الذكاء الاصطناعي، جسّدا رؤية المنصة، مُظهرين كيف يمكن للتكنولوجيا أن تكون حليفًا قويًّا في النضال من أجل الحماية القانونية.

كما استفدنا من رؤى قيّمة من:

• السيناتور مجدي سليم، حول أهمية التشريعات الخاصة بالمرأة في مكان العمل.

• أحمد البدراوي (عميد نقابة محامي جنوب أسيوط)، الذي أبدى انفتاحه على التعاون في منصة المساعدة القانونية "العدالة المصغّرة"، والعمل على تطويرها خطوةً بخطوة.

ما الخطوة التالية؟
على الرغم من أن هذه المنصة هي الأولى من نوعها في محافظة أسيوط، إلا أنها مجرد بداية. في "العدالة المصغّرة - إيدو"، نتطلع بالفعل إلى المستقبل، ولدينا خطط لتوسيع نطاق هذه الحماية الرقمية لتشمل محافظات أخرى في مصر في المستقبل القريب.

Today 12 February we had a meeting in Abu Tig, a small town 45 minutes’ drive south of Asyut, with 15 women who had been trained by EDO to use the Microjustice digital legal aid platform.
These women all told us, how this legal aid platform has changed their life. They now know their rights and how to realize them: the steps, the costs, and what the rules are. That is already very important without starting a case with a lawyer. By having all information clearly written down online, they can claim their rights.
One woman said that she is sad that she did not have access to this information 5 years ago when her grandfather died, and her mother did not receive anything. Now she knows that this is against the law, and she would have shown the male siblings of her mother that her mother has the right on receiving half their portion of the inheritance.
All the women in the group said that they have a mobile phone and have access to internet, and that they can help ladies, who cannot read to look for the legal information they need. They were also very happy that if they would need a lawyer, that through the platform they know that it is someone of confidence, they know the fees, the steps and costs, and that there is transparency to track the case in the CMS.
The protection of privacy and the complaint number is also very much appreciated by that the ladies we spook to.

اليوم، 12 فبراير، عقدنا اجتماعًا في أبو تيج، وهي بلدة صغيرة تقع على بُعد 45 دقيقة بالسيارة جنوب أسيوط، مع 15 امرأة تلقين تدريبًا من منظمة EDO على استخدام منصة المساعدة القانونية الرقمية "مايكروجستس".

أخبرتنا هؤلاء النساء كيف غيّرت هذه المنصة حياتهن. فهنّ الآن على دراية بحقوقهن وكيفية ممارستها: الخطوات، والتكاليف، والقواعد. وهذا بحد ذاته أمر بالغ الأهمية حتى قبل اللجوء إلى محامٍ. فبفضل وجود جميع المعلومات مكتوبة بوضوح على الإنترنت، يُمكنهن المطالبة بحقوقهن.

قالت إحدى النساء إنها تشعر بالحزن لعدم تمكنها من الوصول إلى هذه المعلومات قبل 5 سنوات عندما توفي جدها، ولم ترث والدتها شيئًا. وهي الآن تعلم أن هذا مخالف للقانون، ولو كانت قد أوضحت لإخوة والدتها الذكور أن لوالدتها الحق في الحصول على نصف حصتهم من الميراث.

وأكدت جميع النساء في المجموعة أنهن يمتلكن هواتف محمولة ولديهن اتصال بالإنترنت، وأنهن قادرات على مساعدة السيدات اللاتي لا يُجدن القراءة في البحث عن المعلومات القانونية التي يحتجنها. كما أعربن عن سعادتهن البالغة لأنهن، في حال احتجن إلى محامٍ، يعلمن من خلال المنصة أنه شخص جدير بالثقة، ويعرفن الرسوم والإجراءات والتكاليف، وأن هناك شفافية في تتبع القضية عبر نظام إدارة القضايا.

كما أن حماية الخصوصية ورقم الشكوى محل تقدير كبير من السيدات اللاتي تحدثنا إليهن.
