Ever wondered what it’s like to lead a Formula Student team? 🏎️ 🏁

Our board plays a key role in keeping departments running smoothly by managing both engineering and communications.

Each board member has a specific responsibility:

🔶 Secretary - Communicate with all stakeholders of HARD.
🔶 Team Manager - Manage the teams to ensure that all departments keep up.
🔶 Communication Manager - Oversee marketing, graphic design, events, and acquisitions.
🔶 Finance Manager - Manage budgets and expenses, and keep track of income and payments.
🔶 Lead Engineering - Direct the mechanical, driverless, and electrical engineering teams.

The goal is to:

🏆 Make strategic decisions
🏆 Manage operations and resources
🏆 Participate in Formula Student competitions
🏆 Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team

What can you work on?

• Help plan different posts, stories, and campaign themes 📱
• Share our progress, experiences, and stories with students 📝
• Take pictures and videos throughout events, workshops, and Formula Student competitions 📸

Do you study graphic or digital design? Love being creative, exploring visuals, and bringing ideas to life?

The Graphic Design team is where the Hanze Racing Division’s visual identity comes to life. Starting from social media and designs for presentation decks to promotional materials, we make sure everything we create is consistent, recognizable, and true to our brand.

What can you work on?

- Create visuals for our posts, stories, and other social media content 🎨
- Design promotional materials such as flyers and posters for events or recruitment activities 🎉
- Make our presentations look clear, creative, and professional 🎯
- Work with our colors, fonts, and design elements✏️
- Experiment with layouts, illustrations, and new ways to represent the team visually 💡

In our work we use Adobe and Canva. Whether you are a beginner or already have some experience, we are here to help you sharpen your skills.

🏎️ A day full of learning, inspiration, and a little bit of Dutch weather! 🌧️

On the 17th of October, we had the opportunity to go to the TT Assen race track to showcase HARD and what we’ve been doing, bringing together people of all ages to share their passion for cars and racing.

It was a valuable learning experience and the perfect preparation for taking our HRD07 to competition next summer. We also got to admire some incredible creations by professionals and gather inspiration for our own project. 🔧

Despite the rain and hail, we had a great day meeting visitors, especially all the kids who got to sit in our race car! 🏎️

A big thank you to TT Assen for this opportunity and for having us! 🧡

A day full of curiosity and discovery!

On the 4th of October, HARD took part in Zpanned Zernike, bringing science and technology to life for young minds. It was a successful day dedicated to learning, experimenting, and having fun.

Do you study marketing, communications or business? If you enjoy planning things, bringing people together and seeing an idea turn into an actual event, you might fit right in with Events Department.

We’re the team behind many of the moments that bring HRD together, from the first day new members join us to big events with sponsors and competitions.

What kinds of events do we work on?

Rollout - helping organise the moment we finally reveal our new car improvements🚗
Introduction Weeks - making sure new members feel welcome from day one 👋
Sponsor Events - creating events where we can connect with our sponsors and show them what we do 🤝
Competitions - helping organise everything around our competition experiences 🏆
Team Buildings - planning activities where the team can relax, have fun and get to know each other outside of work 🎉
Workshops & Stands - organising activities where we can meet new people and represent the team 🔧

And there’s quite a lot happening behind every event:
• Deciding when and where it will happen 📅
• Keeping track of registrations and participants 👥
• Working with budgets and costs 💰
• Sorting out food, snacks and drinks 🍕
• Making sure all the little details are taken care of 📋

You don’t have to be an event-planning expert. If you’re organised, proactive, creative and enjoy working with people, you can learn a lot with us.
Because sometimes the best part of racing happens off the track. 🏁
