We are delighted to see that our friends of Sugarspin - Lindy Hop in Groningen have won the Groningen cultuurprijs! Well deserved and a nice boost to the visibility of Swing dancing!
We are immensely proud to announce that 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒! This award is a tremendous honor and a recognition of the hard work and passion our members and volunteers put into every event, every workshop and every DANCE!
According to a unanimous jury, Sugarspin stood out for its ability to create a professional-level organization with their dedicated amateur dancers. They praised our efforts to put Groningen on the map by connecting with international dancers and attracting a diverse, intergenerational, and international audience. The jury also highlighted our commitment to combining dance with socially engaging history, offering a broad cultural vision. This way we have built a vibrantly unique community within Groningen!
We want to express our 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 for their inspiring contributions. You have raised the bar and made this competition an unforgettable experience.
