A fever can send parents into panic mode, but the number on the thermometer is only part of the picture.

When babies and young children develop a temperature, it's important to assess in more depth. Are they feeding well? Alert and responsive? Breathing comfortably? MyMama midwife Catriona discusses what to watch out for, when to seek medical advice, and why accurate temperature measurement is so important.

Week 2 of YAY HALF DAY brought even more opportunities to play, connect (and DISCONNECT 😌) and enjoy quality time outdoors!

Little ones and their grown-ups enjoyed a magical storytime session as well as a parent and child yoga afternoon filled with movement, giggles and plenty of special moments together.

From listening to stories under the trees to stretching, balancing and having fun side by side, it was wonderful to see families slowing down and making memories.

Independence comes with added RESPONSIBILITY!

As summer begins, many teens will be spending more time out with friends, looking after younger siblings, heading to activities on their own, or even taking on babysitting jobs.

As parents, we spend years teaching them how to cross the road safely, stay aware of strangers, and make sensible decisions. But have we taught them what to do if someone gets hurt, stops breathing, chokes, or has an accident?

That's why we've opened selected Paediatric First Aid Course dates to teens too. They're welcome to attend with friends or with their parents, and they'll leave with practical skills, greater confidence, and the knowledge that they can STEP UP and help when it matters most.

Our expert first aid instructors focus on real-life scenarios that are relatable to your teen, covering essential topics that include choking, drowning, allergic reactions, seizures, how to make an emergency call, CPR and more.

Real instruments, music, movement and hands-on fun? YES PLEASE!

Meet Luke Agius (aka Lulu' Session Musician), early-years educator and professional musician, who’ll be leading an engaging parent and child music session at YAY HALF DAY.

With experience conducting music workshops both locally and abroad, Luke brings energy, creativity and plenty of interactive fun to his session at Minden Grove, giving kids the chance to explore music in a way that’s playful, exciting and confidence-building.

We’re VERY excited for this one… and fully expecting at least one child to ask their parents for a full drum kit afterwards 🫣

Paint, smooth stones... and proud faces saying LOOK WHAT I MADE!

Meet teacher and creative Nicole Mifsud Lombardi, who’ll be leading the Stone Painting session at YAY HALF DAY, happening on the 16th June 2026 at 16:30 in the little spot of heaven that is Ġnien Victor Calvagna in Mosta.

With a background in graphical communication and a passion for arts and crafts, Nicole’s session will give kids and parents the chance to explore colours, patterns and creativity together while creating something special to take home.
