🚨Attention All SSI Assistant Instructors!🚨

From 1st August 2026, there will be an important change to the SSI Training Standards.

Going forward, Assistant Instructors will no longer be able to teach the Non-Emergency Ascent skills in Confined Water or any surface skills in Open Water. These skills may now only be introduced and directly supervised by an SSI Open Water Instructor or higher.

For many Assistant Instructors, this could have a real impact on day-to-day teaching opportunities and, ultimately, earning potential, as the role will primarily be limited to assisting Open Water Instructors during training.

Day 3 of our Instructor Training Course is complete — and today was all about Confined Water Teaching Presentations 💦

What a day!
Alba, Alessia, Camila, Giovanni, Katja, and Mike absolutely nailed their presentations on the first attempt (that doesn’t happen often!). To top it off, Sebastian — working toward Assistant Instructor Trainer — raised the bar even higher with an outstanding performance.

Energy, confidence, and growth all around. Tomorrow we head back to the classroom for the next round: Academic Teaching Presentations 📚
