At Dance Project Studios (Pembroke, Malta), founded in 2007 by Kristina Ann Schranz, we amalgamate various forms of creative arts with a particular focus on merging classical dance with the latest commercial MTV-style urban moves and funky jazz fusions. We offer classes in Hip Hop, Jazz Funk, Lyrical and Modern Contemporary alongside preparatory classes for Acro Dance, Cecchetti Ballet, Modern The
atre, Street, Spanish and Tap examinations working up to vocational level. Furthermore, we developed the very first and only structured Hip Hop programme available in Malta. Over the years the portfolio of disciplines offered at Dance Project Studios has continued to evolve and currently also includes Acro, Street, PBT, Legat System Ballet and a Musical Theatre Programme which includes Vocal, Drama and Musical Theatre Jazz. Dance Project Studios aim to revolutionise educational and cultural boundaries fostering a philosophy that dance is for everyone and without discriminating in terms of gender, age or experience. Naturally, as an established school, we offer tuition at all levels allowing students from as young as 2 years of age to grow and develop as beginners working towards professional standards over time. All that is required from a student is motivation together with a creative passion for the arts. Our studios operate on a quarterly basis alongside the local academic system running from October through to June of the following year with a summer programme from July to September as well as ad-hoc specialised workshops. Now with over 600 students annually, each are able to participate in our annual school production - a highlight of the scholastic year with a breath-taking performance display ahead of the Easter break for an audience of some 1000 individuals. Throughout the scholastic year students are professionally trained working toward performances and optional examinations across a range of performance disciplines facilitated via various overseas examining boards. We also organise multiple annual dance holiday trips to international dance competitions and dance festivals. We coordinate yearly Dance Experiences to international festivals and performance events as well as participating in local and world dance competitions. In addition, we also commission the services of industry-leading artists from time to time in order to conduct local workshops that further increase the experience value and exposure for students. Dance Project is effectively an extended family – a family of performers – an atmosphere we strive to nurture both inside and outside the studios, thus building lifelong relationships. All classes take place out of the professionally equipped and fully air-conditioned Dance Project Studios in Pembroke, Malta.
