Swieqi United FC proudly supports the EU-funded Walk Fit project, delivered in collaboration with ASD Real Sala bolognese (Italy).

The initiative promotes Walking Football as an inclusive way to encourage active ageing, wellbeing, and social connection, showing how the game can be accessible to all.

Participants from Malta and Italy came together for the final event of the WALK FIT project, using walking football to promote active ageing, social inclusion and cross-border community engagement through sport

🟠⚫️ Women Head Coach Dorianne Theuma here to stay

A true icon of Maltese women’s football, Dorianne’s journey with Swieqi United has always been built on passion, leadership, and loyalty. After captaining the club on the pitch, she made the transition to the dugout following the end of her remarkable playing career, and immediately continued to leave her mark.

In her first two seasons leading the team, Dorianne guided Swieqi United to a 1st place finish followed by a 2nd place finish, helping establish strong standards and a winning mentality within the squad.

With 27 years of experience in the game, a UEFA A Coaching Licence, and a legacy that extends far beyond statistics, Dorianne continues to inspire the next generation both on and off the pitch. Her understanding of the club’s identity and her commitment to the women’s sector make her the ideal person to continue leading this project forward.

We thank Dorianne for her continued loyalty and dedication to Swieqi United FC, and we look forward to another season of hard work, ambition, and growth together. 🧡🦉

🟠⚫️ Introducing our U19 Girls Head Coach, Dionne Tonna.

A highly respected figure within Maltese women’s football, former national team player, and UEFA A coach, we are proud to welcome Coach Dionne Tonna to Swieqi United.

Dionne brings with her a wealth of experience within the women’s game, both on and off the pitch. Most recently serving as assistant coach of the Malta Senior Women’s National Team, she has played an important role in the development of many young Maltese players competing at the highest level locally and internationally.

Her experience, leadership, and understanding of the women’s game make her a fantastic addition to our club and an important figure for the continued growth of our women’s sector programme.

Coach Dionne’s appointment reflects the ambitions and direction we have for this team moving forward, as we continue building an environment focused on player development, professionalism, and progression within the women’s game.

We are excited to begin this new journey together and look forward to seeing the impact she will make at Swieqi United.

🟠⚫️ Introducing our U16 Girls Head Coach, Andela Kričak

A professional footballer, sports scientist, Serbia youth international, and a coach with extensive international experience, football has always been part of Andela’s life.

From growing up in Serbia surrounded by the game, to competing professionally across Europe and in the USA as a Division 1 athlete, she brings a huge amount of experience, passion, and professionalism both on and off the pitch.

Alongside her playing career, Andela has also developed strong coaching experience internationally, working within different football environments and learning from a variety of coaching cultures and styles throughout her journey in the game.

Currently finalising her UEFA C Licence while also forming part of our senior women’s team, Andela is someone who truly lives and breathes football every single day.

Recently voted our Women’s Players’ Player of the Season, this is a reflection of the standards, mentality, and respect she brings.
