Maltese Handball Club for all ages and abilities. Club History

Kavallieri Handball Club first took part in the league during the 1996/1997 season.

The Kavallieri Handball Club was founded in the year 1996 and the Club is a member of the Malta Handball Association. The objectives of the Club are the following:-

a) To offer Maltese athletes interested in the game of Handball the possibilities of ameliorating both their skills in the sport but also to promote the values associated with sports education – (particularly that of becoming better citizens)
b) To offer the highest level of coaching techniques through its coaching staff to make Kavallieri Handball Club the top team on the island of Malta. Julian Xuereb was in charge of turning several friends into a handball team. The following year Kavallieri merged with Pembroke Athleta and participated in the league with two teams, Kavallieri Athleta and Kavallieri Balzan. In that year they also set up the ladies team which participated in every season from then on. Although not always rosy with the number of players increasing and decreasing all the time, Kavallieri gave a good account of themselves for two further seasons until 2000/2001 season when they merged with Methode Electronics. During the last seasons they continued to consolidate themselves and now have two teams in the men's leagues (Promo and Senior) and two ladies teams. Kavallieri Handball Club won the Men’s Knock Out in 2006/7 and in 2008/9. The club also recently had several successes at juniors both in the girls and boys categories by winning consecutive leagues. This season the club also won the Men’s Promotion League.

🇵🇹 WELCOME TO KAVALLIERI, PEDRO!

A new chapter begins on our bench.

Pedro joins Kavallieri bringing extensive experience in high-performance handball, including time in Liga ASOBAL, the highest level of professional men’s handball in Spain.

His arrival represents more than a change on the sidelines. It marks the beginning of a new generation leading our men’s team, combining ambition, a modern vision of the game and valuable experience gained at one of the highest levels of European handball.

With a strong focus on player development, tactical growth and a competitive mentality. Pedro arrives ready to raise the standards and build, together with the team, a new chapter both on and off the court.

New coach. New ideas. Same Kavallieri fighting spirit. ⚔️

And this is just the beginning.

Soon, we’ll get to know Pedro better, from his journey and his vision of handball to what he hopes to build with Kavallieri this season. 👀🎙️
