Alongside our regular Sailing Academy, we were proud to work with MaritimeMT and Whiz Team Adventure giving even more young people the opportunity to discover sailing and experience life on the water.

🏆 Birżebbuġa makes it to the podium again! ⛵🇲🇹

A fantastic 5th place for Luca Attard at the Optimist Gold Cup, hosted by Fraglia Vela Riva on Lake Garda!

The Gold Cup is a true classic on the Optimist racing calendar, attracting over 350 young sailors and delivering some great racing on the water.

A big thank you to Coach Ivan Vasilev for his ongoing coaching, commitment and support, and to Simone Ricci – Atlantis Academy for his valuable coaching and guidance during this event. 🙌

Light winds didn’t slow the action — our sailors kept the pace high, pushed through every shift, and brought serious energy to the course.

A solid weekend on the water filled with focus, teamwork, and that Birżebbuġa spirit. 💙🌊

Another St. Peter’s Regatta successfully completed at Birżebbuġa Sailing Club! 🌊

Despite the light wind conditions, we still managed to get some good racing in and enjoy great weekend on the water. ⛵💨

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this regatta happen — our race committee, volunteers, coaches, parents, sailors and everyone working behind the scenes. Your time and effort are truly appreciated! 🙌

🇲🇹⛵ From Birżebbuġa to Gdynia! ⛵🇵🇱

We are extremely proud of our Birżebbuġa Sailing Club sailors who represented Malta at the 2026 Optimist European Championships in Gdynia, Poland, competing among 292 young sailors from 42 countries.

👏 Jeremy Decelis – 42nd overall, Gold Fleet
👏 Thomas Giusti – 59th overall and 2nd in the Silver Fleet
👏 Ella Grech – 101st overall, Silver Fleet

Reaching this level requires commitment, determination and countless hours on the water. Jeremy, Thomas and Ella represented their country and club with great pride, and we look forward to seeing where their sailing journey takes them next.

Congratulations also to the entire Maltese team on placing 14th out of 32 European nations.

A sincere thank you to the coaches, families, supporters and sponsors who continue to make these opportunities possible.

Team Malta is Heading to Poland.

A group of 7 athletes is making their way to Gdynia today to represent Malta at the Optimist European Championship. Led by coach Maurizio Bencic and accompanied by team leader Jake Mallia, the team will race between the 24th and 31st July 2026.

The Malta Sailing Federation wishes these young athletes fair winds - bring it home kiddos!
