James Dunne races LA Grand Prix

With Olympic champions Sha’Carri Richardson, Leslie Tebogo, Masai Russel, Cole Hocker and Tara Davis-Woodhall lining out you get an idea of the star-studded entry list competing at the 2026 LA Track Fest.
Tullamore Harriers James Dunne was also on the starting line in the City of Angels. James who is sponsored by New Balance was competing in the 1500m against a world class field including Ethan Stand from the United States and Ollie H***e of Australia.
James got out hard and went through the first 400m in 57 seconds. He kept pushing and passed 800m in 1:54. The Young Ballycommon athlete dug deep and was able to finish a creditable seventh. His time of 3:38.05 his second fastest ever over the distance and this early in the season a great sign.

Naomh Mhuire AC Daingean 5K

On Friday evening, 12th June, Naomh Mhuire AC Daingean hosted Round 6 of the Healthy Offaly Race Series. While conditions remained dry, temperatures were far from those expected for mid summer with a strong cool headwind in parts. Nevertheless, great credit to Naomh Mhuire for putting on a topclass event which was complimented by all.
The race was won by Hugh Armstrong (Ballina AC) in14:50, while Heather Murphy (St Michael's AC) was first female home in 16:47.
Tullamore Harriers had 33 athletes competing from a field of over 400 finishers.

Our first athlete across the line was Kevin Minnock, who had a great run to breaking the 15-minute barrier to finish 2nd overall in 14:58. Kevin led the Tullamore Harriers men's team to victory in the team category, supported by Cian Law (9th), Jack Donegan (11th) and Barry Mooney (13th).
Congratulations to all our athletes who took part and represented the club so well.

Busy weekend for Olive Mannion

Olive Mannion had yet another busy and successful weekend, featuring both road racing and track and field action.
On Saturday, Olive travelled to County Meath to compete in the 40th Patrick Bell & Nicky Phillips Memorial 5km, hosted by Bohermeen AC. Marking the 40th anniversary of this popular event, all participants received a special commemorative medal. Olive completed the 5km in a time of 26:07.

The following morning, Olive switched her focus to the track at the Munster U20, Senior and Masters Track & Field Championships at MTU Cork. Despite the miserable wind and rain, she competed in five events and won a medal in every one of them.
Her results were:
100m – Bronze (18.63 seconds)
1500m – Gold (7:30.89)
400m – Silver (1:39.29)
800m – Gold (3:49)
Javelin – Gold (10.32m)

An outstanding weekend of competition and achievement for Olive.

Dunne and Mooney race Mile in Missouri

James Dunne and Madison Mooney travelled to St. Louis, Missouri for the HOKA Festival of Miles last week to compete in the elite fields which took to the track at the end of a great night of racing.
Both races turned out to be tactical affairs but both young athletes acquitted themselves against stellar competition. James finished 11th in 4:00.52. Madison was 7th in 4:37:08

Another PB for Danielle
Danielle Donegan continued her excellent form with another great performance at the Irish Milers Club Meet in Irishtown Stadium yesterday.
Competing in the Women's A 1500m race, Danielle produced a superb run in wet and windy conditions to record a new personal best of 4:23.38. In a thrilling finish, she edged out Emma Hickey, United Striders AC, to take 2nd place, finishing just behind race winner Kirsti Foster, who crossed the line in 4:22.11.
Well done Danielle.
