NTSFL U13s 0–3 LDSL U13s

Plenty of Positives as North Tipp U13s Show Promise!**

The NTSFL U13s suffered a 3–0 defeat against a strong LDSL side on Sunday last, but the scoreline certainly didn't tell the full story of what was a very competitive encounter between two talented teams. North Tipp started brightly, playing some excellent football and creating a number of good goalscoring opportunities, including an effort that struck the post. Both sides showed plenty of quality throughout an entertaining first half, but it was LDSL who broke the deadlock with a well-taken free kick just before the interval.

The North Tipp lads responded brilliantly after the break, showing great determination, character and a real willingness to get back into the contest. They continued to play positive football and pushed hard in search of an equaliser. However, LDSL demonstrated their quality by adding a second goal before sealing the result with a third in the closing minutes.

Plenty to be encouraged about from this North Tipp group!** This is a newly assembled squad, and while results are always important, there were some very encouraging signs in their performance. With more time together on the training pitch, greater understanding between the players and continued hard work, there is no doubt this group has the potential to develop into a very exciting team. The quality, attitude and ability are there, and we're looking forward to seeing how these young players progress throughout the season.

🔵⚪ Plenty of learning, plenty of positives and plenty more to come from this group!.

U12 Boys Interleague
Limerick District 1-4 NTSFL

The U12 boys began their Interleague campaign today with a game against Limerick District. North Tipp had a lot of confidence going into today after a great game against Limerick Desmond in a friendly two weeks prior.
The team started the game with great fight and determination, getting to grips with the District team whilst also fighting the strong wind. North Tipp settled down and began playing some brilliant football and had some joy out wide as both Cillian and Bill were tripped for what could’ve been penalties. North Tipp continued to put pressure on and got their reward as Peter went in behind and beat with keeper with a great finish. North Tipp doubled their lead with a well worked team goal switching play to Iarla who finished with class, low into the corner. This put North Tipp 2-0 up at the half.
The second half continued with North Tipp dominating and playing some exceptional football, chances came and Peter got his second of the game in a great overall performance. An insurance goal came from Jack with a lovely strike from outside the box that looped into the goal. Limerick scored a goal in the 2nd half from a deflected shot where otherwise both Charlie and Kian held complete control of their box along with the help from Sean and Calum who were as composed as ever on the day.
The group produced a performance that they can all be very proud of with all players contributing effectively on the day.
POTM goes to Peter Jones who played in multiple positions, worked hard in and out of possession and fully deserved his two goals.

NTSFL 2 - 0 Clare

Game 1: NTSFL 2–0 Clare
It was a very windy day, but NTSFL started well and took the lead after 10 minutes. Tom Ryan did well to get to the end line and pull the ball back for Jake McGuinness, who finished well.

With the wind behind them, NTSFL spent most of the first half in the Clare half but couldn't add to their lead.
Clare came at NTSFL in the second half, as expected, but some good defending and excellent goalkeeping kept them out. With five minutes left, Josh Nolan got in behind and finished brilliantly to make it 2–0.

A good start for NTSFL. Donnacha O'Brien, Harry Williams, Jake McGuinness and Andi Durnescu all played well. Man of the Match was Daniel Ryan, who ran the game from CDM. He linked everything together and was excellent throughout.

Game 2: NTSFL 1–2 Clare
A very different game. Clare were on top for long spells, but NTSFL were always dangerous on the break.
NTSFL took the lead when Harry Kennedy rose highest to head home a great free kick from TJ Breslin. Clare kept pushing and scored twice to take the win.
Harry Kennedy, Richard White and Darach Henry were among the best for NTSFL.

Two good games to get the interleague campaign started. There is plenty for us to work on, but we are proud of the attitude these boys show every time they take the field. They keep working, keep learning and represent the league well.

U13 Girls | NTSFL 1–0 Galway Maroon

The NTSFL U13 Girls travelled to Salthill Devon FC today to take on Galway Maroon in their first Interleague Group match.

In an entertaining and competitive encounter, the girls created numerous chances but had to remain patient as they searched for the breakthrough. Their persistence finally paid off in the 28th minute of the second half when Katlyn Tuohy got on the end of a fantastic cross from the left wing to fire home the decisive goal.

There was still work to do, and a superb save from goalkeeper Fiadh Cooke in injury time ensured the girls held on to their lead. At the final whistle, the NTSFL girls had secured a hard-earned 1–0 victory and their first points in the Interleague Group.

There were excellent performances throughout the team, with Layla Tuohy deservedly taking home the Player of the Match award.

A huge thank you to Galway for their hospitality, to Salthill Devon FC for the use of their excellent facilities, and to our referee for today's match. The after-match pizzas also went down a treat with the girls!

Finally, thank you to all the families for their continued support and for getting the girls to the venue.

A fantastic start to the campaign. Well done to all the players and management!

Work hard. Stay humble. 💙💛

U12 Girls | North Tipp vs Galway

The North Tipp U12 Girls played their first competitive match for North Tipp today, facing a difficult opening test away to Galway at the excellent facilities of Salthill Devon.

The girls produced an excellent defensive performance in the first half, with goalkeeper Saorlaith Dunne making some superb saves to keep Galway at bay. The team in front of her worked tirelessly, showing great determination and really putting it up to a strong Galway side.

After the break, North Tipp pushed forward with greater intent and created a couple of good chances. Galway eventually broke the deadlock from a free kick, with the strike taking a significant deflection to wrong-foot the goalkeeper. A second goal from another set piece made the task more difficult, but the girls continued to battle bravely and created further opportunities of their own before a fantastic strike sealed a 3-0 win for Galway.

While the result didn't go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from this first outing. All 18 players got valuable game time, and the experience will stand to the girls as they continue to develop and grow together as a team.

Special mentions to Saorlaith Dunne, Caoimhe Tierney, Aoise McLoughlin and Fiadh Kennedy for their performances.

Player of the Match: Team captain Isabel O'Dwyer, who led by example and delivered an excellent performance from start to finish.

A big thank you to Galway for their hospitality after the game, which was very much appreciated.

A challenging first test for the girls, but plenty to build on. The journey is only beginning!
