Lough Derg FC 1
Holycross FC 4
Holycross played themselves off the bottom of the table with this great win on the warmest day of summer away to Lough Derg. The opening 10 minutes was a competitive affair. Caoimhe broke the deadlock on 12 minutes with a very well taken goal. Caoimhe was causing the Lough Derg defence hassle all game with her speed and determination. There were a couple of chances at both ends, but it remained 1 nil to the half. The 2nd half saw 4 goals 3 from the boot of Róisín and Lough Derg got a consolation goal. This was a fine team performance with everyone playing their part. The Holycross defence was once again solid. Mid field worked tirelessly and had some lovely passages of play. Róisín was coolness personified in scoring her hat trick, she was only on the field for 25 minutes, having already played a match. The player of the game goes to Caoimhe, whose never give up attitude must be applauded. Isabelle Shanahan, Lainey Cavanagh, Emma Ryan, Éabha Walshe, Rianne Babu, Robyn Carr, Caoimhe Hayes, Siobhán Gleeson, Edel Cullagh, Emily Finn, Emily Bannon, Róisín Ryan.

Holycross travelled to Nenagh Thursday evening to play Champions in waiting Nenagh Celtic.Holycross were holding their own in the first ten minutes of this fixture but loosing Ronan Bourke through injury didn’t help our cause.Nenagh scored three before the break and Holycross might have fancied their chances in the second half playing down the hill but loosing their keeper Jayme Palmer through injury early in the second half didn’t help an already depleted squad.Nenagh Celtic scored four more in the second half without reply from Holycross who never really got going tonight.Well done to Nenagh Celtic on winning the league tonight and hopefully now we will get a break from each other with one promoted and the other relegated.⚽️⚽️⚽️

Lough Derg 2
Our final match of the season was at home to Lough Derg who were already league winners with a game to spare. This was a very competitive game with Lough Derg that bit stronger for the opening 10 minutes. They scored after about 10 minutes with a long range shot finding the top of the net. Their second goal, 5 minutes later, was fortuitous with a floating cross taken by the wind over our keeper to the top of the net. At 0-2 , we did not drop our heads and fought hard. We were rewarded with a goal just before half time when Cian Long put Eoin Cafferkey through one on one with the keeper and he slotted it into the corner of the net. Holycross had many chances to equalise in the second half but the Lough Derg keeper was excellent on the day and made many fine saves. Likewise our keeper Conor Judge was outstanding throughout. The lads can be very proud of their first competitive season with some great performances along the way. Well done lads. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

U14 boys league
Holycross travelled to Roscrea Saturday morning to play Killavilla in a league fixture.
Killavilla scored straight from kickoff catching Holycross by surprise with a fine strike.
The game settled and Holycross found their feet and were dictating the play when they won a corner that was headed to the net by Ronan Bourke.Holycross continued to dictate the play and went in front when Daniel Melnychuk scored after a fine run 1-2 to Holycross at half time.Now the boys worked really hard all through the first half and new it was not going to be easy as the game progressed into the second half as we had no substitute to call on as sickness and injury robbed us of our subs.Killavilla did start to dominate the second half as the half progressed,and with tired legs all over the pitch and about fifteen minutes left on the clock Killavilla found an equaliser.Killavilla scored again to go in front and break Holycross hearts but Holycross never gave up and almost found an equaliser from a corner that was cleared off the line.Killavilla made sure of the win a few minutes from the end.⚽️⚽️⚽️TFG
