We will visit Irelands highest free falling waterfall “Sruth in Aghaidh an Aird on our up coming hike next Saturday which is commonly called the Devils Chimney
The unique feature is that at certain times the thermals lift the downward flow upwards as can be seen in the video clip

Lake District day 4 - Buttermere lake loop & Haystacks summit
Buttermere is without doubt one of the Lake District’s most stunning peaceful valleys🩷
and as such we kept the best till last
Though the weather was far from ideal with steady rainfall throughout the day we still got to enjoy this beautiful gem
Half the group opted for the lake circuit ending with a visit to Sykes Farm Tea Rooms while the other half headed up to the summit of Haystack which the distinguished author Alfred Wainright declared it to be his most favourite “Fell” so much that he requested his ashes to be scattered at a small lake close to the summit known as “Innominate Tarn”

Day 3 Scafell Pike 978m - highest peak in England
We set out to climb the highest peak England in non too favourable weather condition
The heavy rain lasted well into the morning but thankfully stopped and it remained dry for the rest of the day
Low cloud prevailed on the summit but it didn’t take away from the sense of achievement
Another superb day and well done to the huge effort and determination that make for success 👏👏👏🩷

Day 2 Lake District 2026 - Catbells 454m
After crossing over Derwentwater on Keswick Launch who took us to Hawes End pier we headed up to climb the beautiful twin peaks of Catbells
In spite of some continuous drizzle and rain we still enjoyed great views and above all else some great hiking and lots of fun along the way 🩷🩷

Lake District 2026
Delighted to be back in this beautiful area🩷
Day 1 We climbed Blencathra 868m in good weather and superb views
At Scales Tarn (lake) a number of the group opted to ascend the Sharp Edge arete, not for the faint hearted and we re grouped at the summit
A most enjoyable start to our trip

A cracker of an afternoon showcasing Sligo’s iconic mountain, Benbulben to these Swiss travel blogger’s on behalf of Failte Ireland
This spell of fine weather has transformed the ground conditions and it’s hard to contrast it with the usual muddy trail we become accustomed to throughout the year

A most enjoyable hike up Mount Nephin 806m the highest free standing mountain in Ireland
It never gets any easier 😤
However the low cloud which so often hides the summit soon cleared and we enjoyed superb views over north Mayo and nearby Lough Conn
It felt chilly on top and the group were well prepared 🩷

Snowdonia (ERYI) Trip day 2 - The Glyders
What a day we had 🩷
Starting at Lake Ogwyen and ascending the boulders of the Devil’s Kitchen we reached the summit of Glyder Fawr 1001m
Crossing over the lunar landscape of the summit plateau with its jagged rock and boulder strewn terrain we almost felt we were on the moon.
The route crosses over giant slabs under our second summit of Glyder Fach 994m to reach the giant Cantilever rock
Who could pass it without the scary scramble to stand on the top🤩 for a heart stopping moment.
What a brilliant weekend of adventure, fun, challenging ourselves and comradery. Building friendships and sharing life’s journeys with one another along the way🥰
“It’s not the mountains we conquer but ourselves”
Thank you all for a very memorable weekend
