Charlie Casey & Hannah Deely set for New York for The Millrose Games
A young Ballisodare(Sligo) man Charlie Casey 8yrs of age along with Hannah Deely from Tarmonbarry in Roscommon will fly to New York along with their families for the 2025 Millrose Games.
Charlie shined brightest among the battling counties this year for the Fastest Feet program. A soccer fanatic with his dad Ryan being a stalwart down the years in the domestic league as well as the UK will park the pitch for the track under the bright lights of the Armory.
Charlie will be joined on the plane by 8yr old Hannah Deely from Tarmonbarry Co Roscommon who was top of the charts for girls, blasting her way onto the plane over at the Longford AC open trial night. Both kids will be joined by their parents and siblings as they jet to New York on Wednesday the 5th of February, they will stay at the elite athlete hotel in Park Central and rub shoulders with multiple Olympic champions as they are spoiled for a few days of non stop action.
On the Friday the 7th the kids will take part in the press conference where they along with the worlds finest are introduced to the world. The Friday night they will be special guests at the NYRR club for a private function and mix and mingle with the chairman of the boards Eamonn Coghlan along some very established guests.
On Saturday the 8th the kids will head up town Manhattan to the Armory for the 117th running of the Millrose Games. Ray Flynn originally from Longford, residing in Tennessee and still the Irish record holder for the mile will once more be the meet director providing a master show year after year.
Both Irish kids will pull on their Space Athletics Federation race gear and blast off around 1pm over 55metres, they can then kick back and watch a mouth watering program of athletics with a host of world records being targeted throughout the day.
Once again the trip of a lifetime being provided for the 2 kids and their families by Galwayman Richard Donovan who has been so instrumental in sustaining the talent ID program down the years
