It wasn't only the weather which was fantastic this week. Our LGFA juvenile section had a week to remember.
Starting Monday our U14's travelled to Myshall to take on Naomh Eoin. With only 11players and baking conditions every girl played their hearts out and we finished well to defeat a strong Naomh Eoin team.
On Tuesday evening our U12's found themselves in arrears at half time but battled back to edge out Fenagh and continue the good form they have shown all season.
Our U16's were up on Wednesday. A visit to O'Hanrahans is never easy and our minors had been well beaten by them earlier in the season. Again numbers were tight with just the minimum 11 players. The match was a free flowing highly entertaining encounter and our girls were delighted when the final whistle went and the scores were totted up. To score 5-16 in those conditions was excellent. Hats off to O'Hanrahans, their tally of 4- 11 would win 9 out of 10.
Our busy week ended with our U14'S in action on Friday evening against St Anne's (Sky Blue) in Br Leo Park. The girls played some excellent passing football and eased past a very young St Annes team who battled to the end.
Some big shouts out this week.
Eireann, Maci, Aoibheann, Tara and Naomi who all played three matches this week in really warm conditions.
Kallie who plays in her third successive Gaynor Cup next week. Kallie is their team captain and we wish her and all the Carlow girls the very best.
Roisin whose 'sore toe' turned out to be a broken toe, we wish her a speedy recovery.
And finally to all our girls who are starting exams next week. Stay calm, get plenty of sleep, hydrate and all will work out ok. Best of luck girls... ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐
