๐Ÿ’š Cork City Half Marathon ๐Ÿ’š

A huge well done to our Newbridge AC athletes who took on the Cork City HalfMarathon on Sunday.

Special congratulations to Claire Brady, who ran a fantastic 1:40:37 in the half marathon - an incredible performance on the streets of Cork. ๐Ÿ‘

Half marathon days take serious commitment, from the weeks of training to the race-day grit, and itโ€™s brilliant to see the green of Newbridge AC represented so well.

Well done Claire. Super running! ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’š JP Archbold Competes at JBL JumpFest, Slovakia ๐Ÿ’š

A huge well done to JP Archbold, who travelled to Koลกice, Slovakia last week to compete at the JBL JumpFest.

This brilliant event forms part of the World Athletics Continental Tour and takes place in a purpose-built arena right in the heart of the city - a serious stage for serious jumping!

What an incredible experience for JP to compete alongside athletes of the highest calibre, including Diamond League and World Championship finalists.

Opportunities like this are invaluable and a real reflection of the standard JP is now operating at.

A fantastic achievement and another proud moment for Newbridge AC.

Well done JP - onwards and upwards! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒฒ Newbridge AC U14+ Forest Trail Session ๐ŸŒฒ

On Sunday, we took our U14+ group, along with coaches and a few brave parents, to Moore Abbey Woods for a slightly different kind of training session.

No track. No lanes. No cones. Just forest trails, fresh air, a few hills that definitely werenโ€™t mentioned in the briefing ๐Ÿ’š

It was brilliant to see the athletes taking on something different, enjoying the trails, running together, and proving once again that Newbridge AC can turn pretty much anywhere into a training ground.

And because we are nothing if not balanced athletes, the session was followed by the very important recovery protocol of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, ice cream and treats in the fabulous Woodstock Cafรฉ. Elite nutrition? Debatable. Elite happiness? Absolutely.

A huge well done to all the athletes, parents and coaches who came along. Great running, great company, and a lovely reminder that training doesnโ€™t always have to look the same to do the job๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฒ

All-Ireland Schools T&F Championships ๐ŸŸขโšช

What a weekend for Newbridge AC at the All-Ireland Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore.

It was wonderful to see so many of our athletes qualifying to compete on the national stage, representing their schools and mixing it with the very best in the country.

Beth, Henry and Max got the weekend underway on Friday, with Beth producing a brilliant performance to finish 4th in the Junior Girls Race Walk, while Henry pulled out a huge PB in the triple jump to claim a fantastic bronze medal ๐Ÿฅ‰

Saturday saw another strong Newbridge AC contingent in action, with Olivia, Anna, Eve, Mya, Maeve, Eoghan, Kyle, Jayden and JP all taking to their events.

Maeve threw well in the javelin, while Jayden fought brilliantly in the 800m, agonisingly missing out on a medal by just 0.01 seconds. JP was back jumping to his best in the Senior Boys Long Jump, taking a superb bronze medal ๐Ÿฅ‰

The highlight of the day came in the Inter Boys 100m Hurdles, where it was a battle right to the line between two Newbridge AC clubmates. Kyle stormed home to take a brilliant silver medal, with Eoghan just ahead of him to become our newest All-Ireland Champion ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ

A massive congratulations to every athlete who qualified and competed over the weekend. To reach an All-Ireland Schools final is a serious achievement in itself, and to come home with medals and national titles is something very special.

What a weekend for Newbridge AC๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

County Community Games Success ๐ŸŸขโšช

A huge well done to all of our Newbridge AC athletes who represented their areas so brilliantly at the County Community Games in Celbridge last week.

What a showing from this crew. With too many podium finishes to mention - and we definitely donโ€™t want to leave anyone out - itโ€™s fair to say our athletes brought home medals in their droves! ๐Ÿ…

Across the age groups and events, there were fantastic performances, huge efforts & big smiles on show. It was brilliant to see so many of our athletes competing with confidence, determination and pride for their local areas.

A special shoutout to those who have now qualified for the Regionals, and to those who have gone straight through to the All-Irelands in August. What an achievement ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Days like this show the strength, depth and spirit of our juvenile athletes. We are so proud of every single one of you.

Well done all - onwards we go! ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

County 60m Hurdles Championships ๐ŸŸขโšช

Well done to our young Newbridge AC athletes who were in action at the County 60m Hurdles Championships in St Cocaโ€™s AC on May 21st.

First up was Rรณise, who got the evening off to a brilliant start by winning her heat and then finishing strongly in the final to place 6th overall.

In the boysโ€™ event, Billy ran very well in his heat, finishing 4th and booking his place in the final. Michael Gardiner also put in a super performance in his heat, qualifying strongly for the final after finishing 2nd.

Both boys gave it everything in the final, with Michael finishing at serious speed to claim a fantastic silver medal ๐Ÿฅˆ

A big congratulations to Michael Gardiner on his county medal, and well done to Rรณise, Billy and Michael on a great evening of racing and valuable championship experience.

Plenty more to come from this crew ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

What a day in Newbridge ๐Ÿ’š

Today, our club had the absolute privilege of running side by side with the incredible as they completed their Kildare leg of their marathon challenge in aid of Alzheimerโ€™s Ireland.

What stood out most was the community spirit that surrounded them from start to finish. Schools, creches, local businesses and our community lined the streets to cheer them on.

Every step of the way, the lads were surrounded by a sea of green singlets and t-shirts as Newbridge AC members, juveniles and seniors alike, stepped out in force to support them.

There was something truly special about seeing so many people come together shoulder to shoulder behind two remarkable young men with an extraordinary mission.

Today reminded us of the real power of community, connection and support. When we run together, we achieve amazing things.

Jordan and Cian, thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey today. Newbridge is proud to stand with you ๐Ÿ’š
