On Saturday, September 12th, Naas GAA Juvenile Hurling proudly hosted the 2nd annual Morgan Lalor U13 7s tournament.
We were delighted to welcome visiting teams from near and far: (Galway), .judesgaa and (Dublin), and St. Mary's Hurling Club (Tipperary), as well as Western Gaels Hurling Club and Éire Óg Greystones (Wicklow).
The event featured both Cup and Shield competitions, serving up a brilliant showcase of fast, free-flowing hurling played with exceptional spirit and sportsmanship by every team.
Following an intense series of round-robin matches and semi-finals:
Shield Final: Athenry emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle against Éire Óg Greystones.
Cup Final: Host team Naas edged out Ballyboden St Enda’s in a thrilling rematch of their earlier group stage clash.
Trophies and medals were presented to all finalists by Morgan Lalor. Daniel Kelly accepted the Morgan Lalor Shield on behalf of Athenry. Matthew Corrigan accepted the Morgan Lalor Cup on behalf of Naas
Individual honours went to Sean Birchall (Western Gaels), who was named Player of the Shield, and Aodh Whelan (St Jude’s), who earned Player of the Cup. These awards were determined by referee feedback based on skill, impact, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The Naas U13 (2013) hurling mentors and organizing committee extend their sincere thanks to all visiting players, coaches, and parents who traveled to make the day such a success.
