Another super week of cycling by the C4SC gang! Wednesday evening saw the group head towards Clare for some hill training. Friday, a very large group of club members took part in the annual EXPERT electric cycle(not that they were on electric bikes😁!). A special word of thanks to club members Kieran Finucane and Valerie Dunne for their part in organising such a fantastic worthwhile event. Then on Saturday we headed for Bunratty for our weekly leisure spin. Well done to all, great work and fantastic comraderie🚴🚴‍♀️😊
See you next week again!

Well done to out members taking on the Cycling Ireland Leaders course last weekend. It's great to see some many limerick clubs expanding the knowledge 🚴‍♂️

🚴 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐑𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐖𝐖! 🎓

A huge thank you to the seven Wheelers who gave up their Saturday last weekend to complete the Cycling Ireland Ride Leader course at UL.

Ride Leaders are the backbone of every club spin. They're the ones out front planning routes, keeping an eye on the group, making the calls on pace and safety, and making sure every rider, from the newest member to the most experienced, gets home safely and has a great spin. None of our Sunday club spins would happen without people willing to take on that responsibility, and the club relies enormously on their time, knowledge and commitment week after week.

It was also great to spend the day alongside members of Limerick Ladies Cycling Club and Cycle4sickchildren Cycling Team Limerick, who had members completing the course too - always good to share the experience with riders from other clubs and swap a bit of chat along the way.

Having seven more qualified and ready to lead is a brilliant boost for the club. It means more consistency in getting three groups out on Sundays, more variety with the routes, and hopefully the capacity to offer a regular green group, a leisurely 35-40km spin with a coffee stop, on most, if not all, Sundays going forward.

Well done and thank you to everyone who took part; your time and commitment help keep Southside Wheely Wheelers moving forward 👏

Wednesday night saw the club spin head for the hills of Clare, great midweek training😊
We had our usual Saturday leisure spin out to Bunratty with the obligatory coffee stop at Jilly & Joes☕️🥮
Well done to all the crew who ventured further afield on Saturday and covered 150km (not including the ferry trip😁). A great day was had by all. After a dampish start the weather only got better as the crew headed for Clare and they had the wind at their backs all the way home from Tarbert💪👏👏👏

Cycle for Sick Children recently presented a cheque for €6000,the proceeds of our Awareness Tour 2026, to the Mid-West School for the Deaf. We are delighted to support this really worthy cause and thank you so much to everybody who cycled on the day, those who contributed outside of the cycle,to our fantastic club volunteers and our wonderful sponsors. It is really appreciated.

A fantastic evening for the annual Boher Ciara McCarthy Memorial Cycle in aid of Cliona's Foundation.

Always a club favourite and this year did not disappoint with a 40km rolling route in the sunshine.
As always the sandwiches and tea were in full flow afterwards.

Well done to the organisers and the wider Boher Community. Always a fantastic evening on the bikes.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone that helped us run the C4SC Awareness Tour today with all proceeds going to Mid West School for the Deaf.

A special thank you to the volunteers who worked behind the scenes, helped with registration, safety, refreshments and encouragement throughout the day. Events like this simply would not happen without your time and dedication.

We also couldn't imagine running an event without Raw Cycles. They are an unbelievable support to us on days like today and we are truly grateful 🙏

Thanks to Bulgaden Castle for a superb food stop and such an amazing facility in the heart of the Limerick countryside, to our phenomenal Red Cross volunteers that help keep these events continue year after year an our bike marshals who keep us all safe out there on the roads.

Thanks to our fellow Clubs in limerick, Clare and Tipp and all the cyclists who travelled to limerick, we hope you enjoyed your day, we thank you for your support and we hope to see you all return again in 2027 😁
