Athboy North Meath (Northboy) U13s played Mullingar RFC today in a thrilling encounter.
We ran in three tries in the first half with no response from the visiting team.
The second half started with another brace for Athboy- North Meath, however Mullingar fought back with five tries converting two.
In the end the conversions made the difference with Mullingar finishing stronger.
The final score was 29 - 25 in Mullingar's favour but the Men from Northboy have shown what they can do and if they continue working as a team and training hard, we will only improve over the coming weeks.

🏉 Bank holiday monday THOUGHTS… 😂

Feeling like a bit of a mess around a rugby pitch over the weekend would've done your soul the world of good?

Well, we've just the thing for you! 🤣

🏉 Not fit? JOIN US!
🏉 Never played rugby? EVEN BETTER!
🏉 Not particularly good at it? YOU'LL FIT RIGHT IN!
🏉 Love a laugh, a bit of banter and good company? YOU'RE OUR KIND OF PERSON! 🙌

Welcome to the NORTH MEATH METROS! 🖤💛

We're all about questionable decisions, dodgy passes, enthusiastic tackling, plenty of slagging and the kind of camaraderie that makes you forget you've lungs hanging out of you! 😂

You don't have to be the fittest, fastest or most experienced player on
Because sometimes the best thing you can do for your head is get out of the house, run around a field with a great bunch of people and laugh at yourself! 💪

🏆 Oh, and one small detail we nearly forgot…

These lads have won the Metro League THREE YEARS IN A ROW! 🏆🏆🏆

So don't let all the talk of dodgy passes and questionable fitness fool you… there's a bit of rugby in them yet! 🤣🖤💛

🏉🖤💛 THE FUTURE OF RUGBY IS LOOKING BRIGHT! 💛🖤🏉

What a fantastic display of rugby from our North Meath U11s on Sunday morning at The Grange! 🙌

Our young stars put on a brilliant performance against a very strong Boyne RFC side, with some fantastic running, tackling, teamwork and determination on show! 💪🏉

🌟 One thing's for sure — there's some serious talent coming through the ranks in BOTH clubs! Plenty of future rugby stars to keep an eye on! 👀

A massive well done to all the players, coaches and supporters, and a big thank you to Boyne RFC for a cracking morning of rugby! 👏

🖤💛 Small jerseys, BIG futures! 🏉
