A big step-up last weekend against a seasoned Belgian Elite in Antwerp. David had a great fight. And was part of a great squad. Wrapped up with a 4000m skydive over the Belgian countryside to mark his 18th birthday. Hopefull we'll get more of these memorable trips arranged for many of our young boxers.....

Another great trip away with a great bunch of lads. Here in Antwerp, against a strong Belgium select. National U19 Championships: 3 hard fights in 3 days for David at the National Stadium in Dublin. Good wins against lads from Dublin & Limerick, but losing out today in the Quarterfinal against the strong Jason Donoghue of Mullingar. I couldn’t be more proud of the effort & dedication this young man has put in, especially over the last few months. Well earned rest is now due.

Due to the football matches that are on, I will cancel tonights class, as most of the young boxers will be at the match.
This was the final class of the season, so we will now be on break for a few months.
Thanks to all those who came and gave boxing a go all year, and enjoy the summer.

Chaill Sara amach inné ar troid mhaith i mBaile Atha Cliath, chuir sí iarrach iontach.
Up against a very good girl from Cork, Sara gave it her all, but young Leah Cairns landed some very nice shots. But Sara will be back again – as she’s always improving.
We had 4 boxers entering these championships, and, as a coach I’m full of admiration for our young boxers who give it their all, and still come up short. Boxing is very tough sport. It’s not for everyone. But for those that perservere, we always hope it’s worth it. As Rocky Says – it’s about “keep moving forward!”🥊
